This isn't the 1950s. Everybody already knows whose gay in the commands. Nobody is kicking their asses. Today's 18 year-old recruits don't see being gay as any big deal. For better or for worse, public education did its job. The typical recruit today has already seen friends, family members and co-workers come out of the closet. That's just the way it is these days. I can't imagine anyone is surprised by this.

Your right. it is more openly “accepted” now days by the younger troops.
But the simple fact is.. Not everyone appreciates being approached. I retired over a year ago.. and even then the younger troops were saying they did not want gays in.. so its not all universal.
The policy is not a Moral Ground thing.. It used to be there was a fear of “being exposed” as being gay to be blackmail material by foreign agents.
Guess that idea is now out the window. But I still think that the Gay Agenda is stupid really. Rights as a form of sexual preference or orientation or whatever.. its crazy. Whats next.. Pedophile rights?
