Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A new pro-life movie about a baby born alive after a failed abortion is set to premier in conjunction with the March for Life next week. The flim 22 Weeks tells the true story of a baby aborted alive in an Orlando abortion center in 2005.

A woman named Angele sued an Orlando abortion business in April 2005 for allowing a newborn child to die after she gave birth to the child.

Angele alleged the abortion facility refused to call emergency personnel and that staff at the abortion facility refused to help Angele or her baby, born on the second day of a two-day abortion procedure.

They also charged that Harry Perper, the abortion practitioner who began the abortion process, and James Pendergraft, the abortion business owner, violated state law.

The public is invited to attend a free screening of the 30-minute film in Washington, D.C. on January 21, the evening before the March for Life. The flick will be shown at the Union Station Phoenix Theatre and the showtimes are at 5:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

After each screening the director of 22 Weeks and the mother portrayed in the film will be available for questions.

The film is the first post-election endeavor of BornAliveTruth.org, a group established during the 2008 campaign to expose Barack Obama's votes against an Illinois bill to protect babies who survive botched abortions.

The group describes the film this way: "22 Weeks tells the true story of a young woman locked in the bathroom of an abortion clinic after her aborted baby was born alive."

"It's a film about decisions and the echoes they leave behind. The film includes the reenactment of an actual 911 call," it said. "22 Weeks confronts the outer reaches of one of the most controversial subjects of our time."

Alejandro Monteverde, director of the movie Bella, called 22 Weeks "one of the most disturbing stories I've ever come across."

The movie will also be screened in Orlando, Florida and Wichita, Kansas and the second location is sponsored by Operation Rescue.

And if Obama had been in the room he would have been telling her that he was helping her avoid "punishment".

To hear the Left tell it, now that abortion is legal, there are no botched abortions. No unwanted children are delivered, no sterility from the procedure, no hemoraging, no deaths.

“safe”, legal, and rare is a myth.

The final scene of the film should feature a grinning Obama and a message that he supports murdering born alive “punishments”.

Exactly and as for "rare," abortion kills more Americans than heart disease, cancer and strokes COMBINED.

Back when I was still working and a staff nurse in an emergency department, the older nurses would tell me that it was so much better “now that these girls can go to a real doctor” because they used to see so many self-induced abortions that were really horrible.

I don’t know how bad the ones they used to see before Roe v. Wade were, but the ones after were pretty awful. The “real doctors” who did the botched abortions I saw should have been shot. There was only one doctor that would take emergency calls for the clinic at that time. The abortionists didn’t live in the community, they were at least 2 1/2 hours away in their homes when these girls came in bleeding or septic from incomplete abortions.

One doctor I knew told me that these girls were given a 5mg. tablet of Valium, then the procedure was started. I can’t imagine having my cervix dilated that wide with anything other than a general anesthesia. It has to be horribly painful.

I don’t know what they use now but since those early days they have drugs that cause amnesia for the event, which comes in pretty handy for the abortionists.

“A woman named Angele sued an Orlando abortion business in April 2005 for allowing a newborn child to die after she gave birth to the child.”

I’m confused, wasn’t that her goal? For the baby to die?

Or did she see her BABY and realize it wasn’t a “blob of tissue” and instinct kicked in?

I think that's what happened.

The whole story is tragic, and it sounds like the doctors acted in a horribly irresponsible way. It is a shame that this young woman couldn’t manage to love the baby she was carrying until it was too late. However, at 22 weeks, there is little that can be done to save the baby. The baby was probably about 3 weeks from having a decent shot at survival.

This is why the mandatory ultrasound is such a great tool in the pro-life cause. Once a mother sees that the “fetus” is actually a baby, it changes things.

Absolutely right. At that moment the "just a mass of tissue" verbiage from the pro-aborts is recognized for the lie that it is.

Sorry but I can’t read much more than the headlines and a paragraph or two on a story like this without getting physically ill. Call me suspicious but I am wondering if this young woman’s intentions were entirely altruistic and not just an opportunity to get some hard cash. Hope and pray not
