I am thoroughly confused as to how folks continue to try to prop up George W. Bush's failed government. Months ago, surveys indicated 81 percent of Americans felt the country was going in the wrong direction. Of that 81 percent, there must be Republicans who feel the same way; it cannot be just Democrats.
Historians are already writing that Bush did not possess the intellect, discipline or basic interest in governmental politics to make a good president. The failures are for all to see. We do not need pundits to point out Bush's failures. How about the current economy? Who gets the blame?
George W. Bush leaves the presidency with a 34 percent approval rating, and that's probably too high.

Before 9/11, there were the bombings of the U.S.S. Cole, the embassies in Tanzania and Kenya, and the Khobar Towers. The only Americans getting killed in the war on sand Nazi terror are American troops in belligerent territory. There have been no killings of Americans by terrorists outside of Afghanistan and Iraq.
The whole financial crisis was caused by the mutually consensual actions of lenders and borrowers. Only a small fraction of those actions were shown to be fraudulent. Outside of fraud and enforcement of contracts, government has no business telling people who may or may not lend or borrow money.
I believe that a couple of years from now people will be begging to have Bush back somehow.
I have heard so many liberals say “how could it get any worse than it is now?” They, and we, are about to find out. They deserve it. We don’t.
Thank you George Bush for showing the weenies how it’s done.
According the idiot class, 9/11 only happened because Bush didn't pay attention to the reports beforehand. Previous to 2001, terrorists did not hate America and all Presidents were beloved.
Mr Gray is intellectually and morally vacant.
Since we are all aware that most liberal , Letter to the Editor writing, Californians like Mr. Gray here are intellectually challenged, we should just take his letter with a grain of salt.
Any idiot can write a letter to the editor, and many of them do regularly.
“George W. Bush leaves the presidency with a 34 percent approval rating, and that’s probably too high”
Why is 34 percent too high? It is what is is.
I think the poll showing 77 percent who like Obamachev is too high.
However, voters decided Bush possessed more intellect, dicipline, and basic interest in governmental politics than Algore or Vietnam veteran Johnkerry.
Before Bush we had our evenings interrupted several times a night by telemarketers.
Before Bush we had old people eating dog food to pay for prescription drugs, and even though it was a big new entitlement, at least it was designed with competition and oversight and thus has come in under budget.
Before Bush, Saddam owned the UN Security Council and the directors of the Oil For Food Program.
Before Bush, Saddam refrigerated dead children so they could be paraded in the streets to condemn UN sanctions. He paid $25,000 to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers.
Well, I could go on all night. But in closing, everyone should know that Obama sued and settled with Citibank in 1996 to force more sub prime loans, and yet Bush carries the blame for the global capital meltdown!!! You just can’t make up anything more preposterous than what Democrats believe.
Not so. The government not only bullied lenders into making loans it should never have made (study the statements and actions of young Mr. Cuomo) it supported with tax dollars groups such as ACORN that took to sitting in at bank lobbies and harassing lending institutions and their personnel if they would not give loans to those who did not qualify.
The financial markets were “community organized” with the support of tax dollars and federal patronage.

Code for "He's not a lawyer."
I could defend Bush ... but I’ll wait for Scooter Libby to defend him.
Its a rag on the author, not on the President. THe author is complaining GWB’s ratings are too high.
BOGUS survey question, if you ask me, and should not be the foundation for the argument that Bush was a failure as President.
The only matter at hand now is to at every turn, every moment, every opportunity,
take it to the Zero.
Its pay back.
If rats were livid for the last 8 years, well then by golly the next 4 ought to put them over the edge.
We could argue with them about facts, or F-em trash their man
How’s that Congressional approval rating going, Mr. Gray? If 34% is failed, what is 23%—disaster?
Unlike most Democrats, or even most politicians in general, Pres. Bush seems to have governed more on principle (sometimes a too liberal principle, but principle nevertheless) than by poll.
