DALLAS -- A suspected burglar was fatally wounded on Wednesday during a shoot-out in the 300 block of Hobson Avenue, according to authorities. A man stopped to drop off a newspaper at his mother's house while she was gone and saw that the front door was kicked in and a 17-year-old was inside, police said. The teen, Gabriel Flores, drew his gun and pointed it at the man, who also drew his gun, police said. The son had a concealed handgun license, according to police. Flores fired and the son returned fire, striking Flores, police said. He was taken to an area hospital and died shortly after arrival, police said. The case will likely be referred to a grand jury, police said.

Anybody who takes up armed robbery right now definitely didn’t get the memo about Obama getting elected. Right now, and for at least the next few years, assume that *everybody* is armed.
In some parts of the country, robbers can expect the same treatment as the Dalton gang in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Their DAs have had a lot of trouble with bad lab results and false prosecutions.

It is protocol in TX to refer a justifiable homocide to a grand jury. Just being formal, I suppose....
Can a 17yr old have a pistol permit in Texas? A lot of states let 16yr olds have rifles, but most won’t give a permit for a pistol to any one under 21. I’m just curious about the law down in Texas. If any one can enlighten me thanks.
Pretty sure you have to be over 21 to have a handgun period. I remember the fits they had nearly 30 years ago when I showed up to shoot hunter pistol matches prior to turning 21.
You must be 21 for chl in TX. A 17 year old with a pistol around here is bad news. (unless they are defending his or her parents house)

They go before a grand jury so they get no-billed. That way some idiot liberal DA transplant from up north can never come after you at some point in the future. They also no-bill it to exempt you from any possible civil suits.
