Roberts has more class than to intentionally pull a dumb trick like that. It was a mistake. Nothing more and nothing less.

Let me ask...Roberts started out to “read” the oaf of office and didn’t 0bama interrupt and start to repeat it before Roberts got to his pause and this was a cause of the screw up?

I prefer to believe a psychological explanation. People don't always "intend" to do something, but repressing info or having guilty knowledge can effect their behavior.

Roberts stumbled on the word faithfully and then added it to the end of the sentence.

Despite the courts failure to stop Obama from taking office without first showing proof of meeting the constitutional requirements, the justices know the information in the case brought before them. Any intelligent and normal person could not erase that knowledge from their minds.

When a real world situation occurred related to the information, in this case saying the word "faithfully" his having guilty or suspicious knowledge cause him to flub the oath.
