WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama is urging Congress to postpone the Feb. 17 switch from analog to digital television broadcasting, arguing that too many Americans who rely on analog TV sets to pick up over-the-air channels won't be ready.

It would put a crimp in his propaganda machine if all those po’ folks with analog TV couldn’t get the Great Leader’s orations on their telly.
this has been known for a LONG time. What exactly will delaying it do if those haven’t taken action already? By doing this, it will mean those people WILL have to take action. If you delay it, they’ll do nothing. And why is this such a priority for Obama when there are much more important things to deal with?
Actually, since we need to purchase intermediary translator, it isn’t really free. And, I’ll have another flippin remote to keep track of!
I will reluctantly buy one soon. My biggest complaint is that I spent good money on a TV with a reliable name only 5 years ago. It was a “hi-tech” unit at the time (other than the digital tuner).
I don’t have cable, IPTV or dish. Everything I watch comes from the roof of the Sears Tower. Government fiat will render it that TV useless.

You beat me to it. If Conservatives could figure out a way to block it forever, most of the people who voted for Obama couldn’t be downloaded with the ULTRA LEFT LIBERAL LYING talking points. They don’t seem to read, either.

He is turning loose those who want to kill us. He is promoting infanticide. He is halting the switch to digital. But the MSM will not see that he is halting progress, not promoting it?
Not only that, these 'special' government convertors will not only allow YOU to view the propaganda, but ALSO allow the government to keep and eye on YOU.
Congress inacted the Digital Law about 10 years ago and then they have delayed it ever since.This past year they have done everything possible to get people ready. If there are those who still haven’t done anything about it, to bad. It is time to get on with it.
