FReepers, I just made my paltry pledge to Free Republic. South Carolina is currently at 21st place on the score board with 14 FReepers donating an average of $27.14, for a total of only $380 donated from South Carolina.
The other Southern states that are ahead of us:
#2 Texas total: $2,561.79, 98 FReepers
#3 Florida total: $2,105.00, 58 FReepers
#5 Virginia total: $1,035.00, 34 FReepers
#12 Georgia total: $ 723.24, 30 FReepers
#19 Alabama total: $ 420.00, 20 FReepers
#21 South Carolina total: $380.00, 14 FReepers
#23 Louisiana total: $330.00, 9 FReepers
#30 Tennessee total: $250.00, 13 FReepers
#33 North Carolina total: $223.00, 17 FReepers
#36 Arkansas total: $210.00, 7 FReepers
#43 Kentucky total: $130.00, 4 FReepers
(Note Kentucky is inched out by Iraq, Sweden and Canada (!?!))
Now I know we've got more than 14 South Carolina FReepers. If each of you pledge only $10 it would be enough to take Virginia's lead in the South. If all you Southerners donated $10 each, the South could knocked Kaliforny down to 10th place!
So are we up to the challenge? As Ronald Regan would have said, if he was Southern, "Freedom ain't free" and neither is Free Republic. Help keep this wonderful window open.

I will make a point to donate after the ‘spousal unit’ gets paid on Friday. Lots of work on our house, lately, has cut the funds considerably. :)
