Days into his new job, US Vice President Joe Biden says he sees his role as being a "confidant" and "adviser" to President Obama.
"I don't see myself as the deputy president. I see myself as the president's confidant," Mr Biden told CBS News programme Face the Nation.
"Hopefully I'm the last person in the room with every important decision he makes," the former senator added.

Mr Cheney was reputed to have been the architect of some of the Bush administration's most controversial policies, from the Iraq war, to interrogation tactics and an unprecedented spy programme.
In contrast, Mr Biden, a 65-year-old long-time Washington insider, said his job is to act as an adviser.
"I said, 'Barack, I don't want to be on the ticket unless you're hiring me for my judgment'," he told CBS.
"So that's what I view my role to be, a confidant, an adviser, essentially the last guy in the room when he makes these critical decisions."

Oh,my...
Like I would want Mr. Blurt as a confidant?
I’m sure Biden doesn’t know any more than he has too.
HA HA HA HA HA
These 2 get security briefings now. Everyday.
Think of it.
-—Hopefully I’m the last person in the room with every important decision he makes,” the former senator added.
Joe, you’ve almost got it right. With any luck, you would be the very last person that Obama would ever ask for advice on an important decision. That slight distinction makes all the difference.
Maybe that’s what Obama actually told him?
Great, we’ll all know everything 0 thinks. How frightening.
We are so screwed.
Yeah, right Biden. Will that be before or after you sing “the villages”.
Oh, please. He must be fibbing again, like he did with Mrs. Biden and SOS. Has anyone in DC EVER used the name Biden and judgment in the same sentence? I'm stuned (yes, stuned).
-Hopefully Im the last person in the room with every important decision he makes, the former senator added.
Hehe. Or maybe they call him right at the last minute and he walks in right as the decision is made. What a marooon.
That would be the smart thing to do. Doesn’t totally disarm Biden. He can come up with his own material.
The last person he'd think of asking, maybe.
Errr, wouldn't that be “appointing”?........unless you are going to be a part time cook at the White House or something.
Mr. Blurt? bwahahahahahaha!
I wouldn’t be confident in that confidant because he can’t keep confidential.
>>>you’re<<< sorry 4 error
O & B are self-destructing. I see signs that even the MSM are already tiring of O’s stiff arm and B makes W look smart.
Errr...not even that. "Gaffe" Biden occupies his own, constitutionally mandated, office that is technically NOT subordinate to the President. Ø cannot fire him as he didn't hire him...ACORN hired "Gaffe" just like they hired Ø!
