Acorn's Seed Money

Stimulus: The group that pushed banks into the risky loans that brought the economy down is now eligible for a huge chunk of stimulus cash. The stimulus plan does create jobs — for community activists.

As in any agreement, contract or piece of legislation, the devil is in the details. So it is with the stimulus package percolating in Congress.

Analysts are beginning to figure out that only a small percentage of the money will actually trickle down into the economy in the first two years, not enough to do much stimulating.

Yet in this package is a $4 billion pot for community groups like ACORN to draw upon for what are called "neighborhood stabilization activities," which include "redevelopment of abandoned and foreclosed homes."

That is a worthy goal in a troubled economy. But money was already appropriated for that purpose in the Housing and Economic Recovery Act signed into law in 2008.

The problem for activists is the money was limited to state and local governments, where presumably there is greater transparency on how it is spent, and some measure of accountability.

Community groups like the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now felt left out.

We had ACORN voter fraud in Oklahoma in 2008 so I can only imagine how bad it was elsewhere. This Obama/Pelosi stimulus package needs a NO vote out of every last Republican and hang it around ZERO’s neck with Pelosi and Reid.

FBI is involved here with the US Attorney. Fitzgerald has a RICO investigation open on ACORN voter fraud.

What I want to know is why this wasn’t investigated after the 2000 election since it seems ACORN has been doing this for sometime. After 2004, not much either. How many races have the Dems won like Congress that had enough voter fraud to tip the election.

Is ACORN going to be the core of the People’s Domestic Defense Corps and the key enforcer in the barackracy?

Remember the Constitution, “A well maintained militia”

thats not paramilitary groups, its not the National Guard, and its NOT the Salvation Army.

Its us, everyday Americans like Joe the Plumber, Jane the Waitress, its a debt we owe our forefathers, and we are MUCH more better armed than they were.

He ain't going to cotton to no 'vestigation of family friends either. The U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California will be the first to go, I bet. Last I heard the investigation of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ayers for the bombing that killed San Francisco policeman Sgt. McDonnell is still ongoing.

Officer Down Memorial Page

Are Mr. and Mrs. Ayers guilty? Why can't we find out? Who is protecting them? The academe employees? The MSM employees? .. and now, the President of the United States of America?

The benefits of having friends in high places.

Exactly.

ACORN and other groups like them are nothing new and Republicans did SQUAT while they held the majority and had a chance.

We got.... Baseball steroid hearings. Nothing on ACORN, Code Pink, International ANSWER, etc.

It wasn’t investigated, IMO, because Republicans would have been called mean names. Plus, I think they were confident that they were going to remain the majority and were comfortable with their heads in the sand on this issue.

The GOP was fat, happy, comfortable and arrogant. Now it’s just screwed.

Very well said! Up to the grassroots to do something about it. Fortunately our State Chair who needs to be reelected is doing something about ACORN voter fraud here.

Every GOP State Chair needs a wake-up call. Do something about the ACORN voter fraud in the states or the grassroots will oust you!

Are organizations like ACORN allowed to give campaign donations? What about other advocacy organizations such as the Sierra Club and Green Peace? Do these liberal organizations get any federal grants? I was wondering if there could be large scale money laudering going on with these liberal groups getting money from tax exempt foundations and federal grants and then giving money to the Democratic party. I wouldn’t put anything past them.
