"You have to wade through unpleasant racial politics to enjoy the action" -----snip---- "The script also tosses in some 24-lite torture sequences that will no doubt gladden the heart of any Bushies who miss the glory days of Gitmo. Add to that the films save the white girl from the foreign infidels plotline a staple of American cinema going back to the bad old days of Birth of a Nation and theres a queasily reactionary feel to the movie that detracts from its more incitement-to-riot qualities."

The movie is great and this review will only help-thanks MSNBC! We discussed this movie here:
"TAKEN"...The Movie Every Freeper Father Will LoveNo F-bombs, no nudity, just pure non stop action. Imagine if Jack Bauer's daughter got kidnapped. Not a movie for those opposed to "enhanced interrogation techniques" Since when was Liam Neeson an action hero??? The entire movie was like "THATS WHAT I WOULD DO IF ANYONE MESSED WITH MY FAMILY!"
Loved this movie!!!!

I liked her in that movie where the cruise ship was attacked by a giant octopus.

Alonso Duralde is a movie critic and a fatuous, condescending ass. But there I repeat myself.

...incitement-to-riot qualities. How come lefties never feel that their anti-Christian movies and Michael Moore movies aren't "incitement-to-riot" to Christians?

Of course today Our Leader showed us that the way to peace and tranquility to apologize to our enemies and then listen. Sounds like TAKEN is all about the old US — you know, the one that was always dictating to people.

"How come lefties never feel that their anti-Christian movies and Michael Moore movies aren't "incitement-to-riot" to Christians" Right. And how come lefties always claim our foreign policy creates anti USA militancy in the mid east when they weren't moved to anti mid east militancy after 9/11/01?

i watched a bootleg copy of this movie in iraq last year. it’s great. i didn’t foresee any of this negativity from the liberals, but then again i rarely do anyway.

I must say when I saw the previews, it looked quite interesting.
Wondered if it was a kind of re-make of “Ransom” starring Mel Gibson.
May have to go see.

Bug time violence is fine.
Fake sex if the girl has a bra on (as if) is fine.
But breasts and 4-letter words are the devil.
It’s silly. I speak more about TV on this.

Because Christians dont kill, kidnap, torture, despoil, and generally terrorise like the supporters of other faiths.
Therefore, they obviously can’t feel very strongly about the issue, whatever it is.
Therefore the issue can’t be that important.
Therefore it doesn’t matter what you say against them.

"Since when was Liam Neeson an action hero???"
Well, he was the original DARKMAN
I thought ROB ROY had its fair share of action.
