But this ploy is so typical of congress — make an emergency measure out of the so-called instant need for stimulus money and all the time have lots of provisos embedded in the bill that they aren’t telling us about. Like, for instance, your medical records that — let’s face it — would be a tremendous invasion of our privacies.

Indy Mind provides a recap of the $825 billion spending package. Here’s the recap: http://rkdpolitics.blogspot.com/2009/01/details-of-825-billion-stimulus-package.html

My concerns are several.

The $5.1 billion for Community Development is where the ACORN money is embedded.

There’s $700 million for health care research. That, coupled with $2.1 billion for health resources and services might just be where the medical records going to the feds could be embedded. Haven’t heard back from my congressman yet.

Time to burn up the wires again and contact your congressionals and tell them what you think if you don’t want the “stimulus” bill to go through congress with more blank rubber checks for runaway pork spending.

Obama wants the $825 billion sent over to the White House right away. Never mind that there’s not enough time to really study the bill in detail. It’s got to be done right now.

And I just heard on Fox News that there’s a plan for a vote to come up in the House later today. Unbelievable! I reserve the right to say that this pork package is not going to stimulate the economy. It’s just going to make a whole bunch of political cronies richer.
