Huckabee: Stimulus is 'Anti-Religious'
Politico ^ | 2/10/2009

Posted on 02/10/2009 4:35:28 PM PST by AfterManyASummer

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee warned supporters Tuesday that the $828 billion stimulus package is “anti-religious.”

In an e-mail that was also posted on his blog ahead of the Senate’s passage, Huckabee wrote: “The dust is settling on the ‘bipartisan’ stimulus bill and one thing is clear: It is anti-religious.”

The former Republican presidential candidate pointed to a provision in both the House and Senate versions banning higher education funds in the bill from being used on a “school or department of divinity.”

“You would think the ACLU drafted this bill,” Huckabee said. “For all of the talk about bipartisanship, this Congress is blatantly liberal.”

“Emily’s List, radical environmental groups, etc. all have a seat at the decision making table in Washington these days,” he continued. “Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are in charge and they are working with an equally ‘progressive’ President Obama (remember his voting record is more liberal than Ted Kennedy!).”

In the e-mail, Huckabee concedes that there is little that conservatives can do in the near term, but advocated mobilization to defeat those “masquerading as ‘conservative Democrats.’”

Is it against one's religion to support it?

Of all the things to complain about...

I’m glad this man didn’t make it through the primaries.

Not unless one actually follows the tenets of one’s faith which so many people I guess no longer do. Unless it is the ‘religion’ of the Democrat, communism, socialism, religion prejudism, or the religion of evil. Porkulus bill. Stimulate hate and evil bill. Those are my names for this monster.

Yeah, just worry about the end of freedoms that affect YOU. It’s religious people now, but it won’t end up affecting whatever “group” you belong to down the road. Don’t worry about it.;)

The same part of the Bill Huckabee is talking about denies funding to any schools that let religious groups use school resources equally, as they do with secular groups. The Supreme Court has ruled time and again that the government and schools cannot discriminate against groups of people solely based on their religion. I guess Obama thinks he’s more powerful than the supreme court. As long as some Conservatives like to see SOME conservatives get theirs, while hoping it never comes around to them, I guess he will have that power.

Huckabee is right. This bill is anti-religious and those frauds posing as moderate democrats need to be targeted.

“...Romney might have been our nominee, might be our President and this national economy debate would be a very different conversation.”

Yeah, like how much to put in the Stimulus Bill for presidential hair gel.

Ahhh, the “he wouldn’t let my guy win” pout. I guess you were glad McCain beat him then, hu? How’d that work out? We elect RINO’s over conservatives all the time because of this thinking. This kind of “my guy, or nobody” thinking got us, RINO’s in the Senate, the stimulus bill, and Obama.

He’s going to own them in a year or two.

“Of all the things to complain about...”

Well the bill does contain language to prohibit groups from using facilities that obtain stimulus funds (unless the language was removed).

This is a very in your face assault on faith based groups who have a meeting space in schools or universities.

Think what you want about Huckabee; but this is a very big deal.

It is our Federal government directly going after the faith based groups (primarily Christian groups) that they have reluctantly tolerated to this point.

The water is getting hotter for the frog in the pot. Will we wake up; or just let them have our nation without a fight?

Here is the bill itself with no filters.

Open the pdf and go to page 193. The verbiage starts on line 19 of that page

Truly scary thought. If he does Obamatize the SCOTUS, the “wall of separation” will go right on past banning religion from the public square, and will become a bus ticket to the re-education camps, where we will all learn to properly identify hate speech (aka anything that doesn’t promote worship of the One).

This garbage is going to take 20 years to undo, assuming that is even possible once the Republic is destroyed in favor of the global society.

All the brave new world order conspiracy theories we read about on FR in the '90's are coming true with lightning speed. God help us.

It is a bill to solidify his socialist agenda and ram tyranny down the throats of a once free people. What is our duty when such is the case?
