WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama on Wednesday called Alaska's proposed natural gas pipeline "promising" as a national energy resource, and pledged to discuss it with Canadian leaders during his Feb. 19 trip to Ottawa.

"It's a project of great potential and something I'm very interested in," Obama said Wednesday during an interview in the White House with the Anchorage Daily News and 15 other regional newspapers.

This guy needs to stop flapping his gums and start governing. Talk is cheap and there is no shortage of it coming from him.

Start worrying when the DemonRATS want to get their grubby paws on something that might be vital to America.

Hmmm, Alaskan pipeline. Shouldn’t ODUMBO want to talk to Governor Palin about that? Why Canada?

I thought Sarah Palin already made that deal with TransCanada.

The messiah is going to swoop in and take credit.

Isn’t that just like a man?

The only gas on this trip was that coming out of Obie’s ass. He could care less about the pipeline and Salazar is a weasel about offshore drilling as well as interior drilling.

Read his words carefully. As sleazy as a sack of wet crap.

The Anchorage Daily News is the propaganda arm of the democrats in Alaska. It is not to be trusted.

The ADN is the anti-Alaska propaganda rag, Anchorage is the the coffee house liberal haven or gays and liberals in Alaska.

I could be working right now instead of being laid off if I were to commute the 50 miles into Anchorage but I hate that town, last time I was there it was driving a concrete mixer back in october and at every major traffic stop in the busy rush hour traffic downtown there were dozens of panhandlers rushing out to the cars begging for money, and they were all working age men in their 20’s I would say, most likely fools that managed to get to Alaska and found out how hard it can be to get a job in the winter.

No way am I going to work in Anchorage unless its a job requiring me to wear body armor and firearms.

And now I get this little notice in the mail from the Alaska Employment Benefits office, they want me to be “oriented” to a new career because they do not like paying me for several months when I’m off season.

In other words its the norm to be NOT working for several months in some trades, me I drive a concrete mixer.

I guess they want to re-educate me to be a Walmart greeter.

So I expect they will demand I drive over 100 miles per day RT to commute to a job that probably pays less in weather conditions that I should remind people, ITS ALASKA-—HELLO

Here I am, 52 with a good work history background, I’m thinking about just doing an early retirement and opening a small word of mouth business as a gunsmith at home off the books.

Have a neighbor who is layed off, probably for good; due to decline in oil industry on splope, real drag. It sure hits home when it happens; good luck; hope it all works out. Just remember, Ak is better set than most other states and we really don't have any taxes.

The fairbanks news miner is a better paper. I was just reading Palin said she doesn't want any social stimulus money, not a grant; a loan with compounded interest; unreal. She'll take the infrastructure which is a grant.

When I first moved to Alaska in 1992 I went from Lake Tahoe, Nv. straight to Fairbanks, I was the Chief Engineer of the Tahoe Queen there and was hoping for a job on the Riverboat Discovery, I didn’t get the job because I was a cheechako and it kinda got me a new look at Alaska politics.

But anyway I remember Fairbanks, I really liked the people there, nowadays I live 300 miles south in Wasilla, I’m not worried about getting a job, its the when and where.

I don’t consider slope jobs because I’m an old fart that prefers his recliner and hot tub when he gets home, and push comes to shove I can get a job easily as a mixer driver at other companies, problem with that is the animosity of competing businesses over the years.

And I would rather work only 9 months a year at best anyway and then take the rest off, this is the first time I have filed for benefits in 8 years. And they are bitching about it. I have faith Alaska will tell Obama to go jump off a pier, to many I hope they realize some things in life call out for an exact cold dish of revenge.

Financial wise I’m in great shape, my truck is paid off and so is my house, the pantry is full and my bills are minimal, I really do not need the benefits, its just the principle that they made me me pay for it out of all of my checks.

Which of course doesn’t apply here.

Well good luck. I mean that sincerely. I would feel like I fialed you if I didn’t suggest you move up to the Fairbanks area. We are much more sane up here, and there is plenty of work for those willing to do it.
