NY Post ^ | 2/15/09 | staff

With the mega-pork, er, stimulus bill done, Democrats will now turn to regulating political speech they don't like. That is, they're revving up to resurrect the so-called Fairness Doctrine. Created in 1949, the doctrine required broadcast radio and TV outlets (then relatively few in number) to present balanced viewpoints on issues. The FCC repealed it in 1987, noting the dramatically expanded media landscape of the intervening four decades allowed sufficient competition of ideas.

The New York Post has got to be the only newspaper in America right now who gets the truth out there. I support them and pick up my copy every day.

Hope nobody is still not convinced that we have been taken over by the Communists party. If this doctrine happens, the beginning of the end of Obama, the RAT Party, and the MSM. Revolution will be certain.

If the Fairness Doctrine was brought back and honestly enforced on TV, it would be the Democrats that would be against it.

I was thinking they would go after our minds next. I can turn off the drivel on the radio, like I do on the TV, but that wouldn’t fullfill their need for control. So they would have to forcfully require registered republicans and suspected conservatives to show up for a daily dose of “balanced” info. lol Let them try it.

If the 1st Amendment goes, the 2nd will be quick to follow. With the voice of opposition silenced, gun grabbing is made all the easier.

What is needed is conservative action groups to agitate for equal face time on CNN, CNBC, NPR, and the like.

I've noticed that the response of those who voted for "The One" and can't defend his actions is:
"He's your president now, you have to rally behind him"
To that I respond;
"As a Christ follower, I can't condone his actions"
That seems to end further discussion.

Stop using leftist words. It is THE CENSORSHIP DOCTRINE.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2172649/posts

it is important not to let leftists frame the argument. ask the mod to put “censorship doctrine” in parentheses next to the title.
