A bill pending in Congress that would ban selling primates as pets must be passed to rectify a patchwork of state and local laws that leave many people at risk of being attacked by exotic animals like chimpanzees, animal experts and lawmakers told FOXNews.com.
Police shot and killed a 200-pound chimpanzee in Connecticut Monday after it attacked a 55-year-old woman, leaving her in critical condition with major, "life-altering" injuries to her face and hands.

"If you have a captive chimp and you're going to interact with him the way that [Herold and Nash] were, it's not 'if,' it's 'when' it will attack," Salmoni told FOXNews.com.
"If you interact with a chimpanzee like that for that long, it will eventually turn on you. There's no question."

A case could be made that the chimp “went Muslim” in that the victim’s fingers were removed. Perhaps the victim had taken one of the chimp’s bananas, and the chimp merely imposed a Sharia Law penalty?
Eating the victim’s face seem a bit much, even for a Muslim, but still it is small change beside the usual Sharia Law neck cutting.
Was the chimp Marandized? Were his civil liberties infringed? Was this a hate crime? Was he provided a footbath and prayer room? Was he ever water-boarded?
I imagine by law they mean human-primate marriage.
Sort of like twisting the dragons tail. A position we find ourselves in at present.
LOL!
Well, that would clear out Congress pretty fast.
Humans are primates but these journalists will never let on.
There’s a big difference between a spider monkey and a chimpanzee.
Chimps are dangerous, most monkeys are just annoying.
That chimp had man boobs.
Possession of a private primate is a prime privilege.
Why anyone would keep either as a pet escapes me. Each to his own I guess.
