FAIRFAX, Va. George Mason University students have elected a drag queen as homecoming queen. Student Ryan Allen beat out two women for the title at the 30,000-student school in suburban Washington, D.C., famous for its run to the Final Four a few years back. Allen competed under his drag queen persona of Reann Ballslee.
Allen, who is gay and performs in drag at nightclubs, said he entered as a joke. But he considers the victory one of his happiest moments and proof the school celebrates its diverse student body.

“proof the school celebrates its diverse student body.”
Um, I think it proves the student body is confused.

It think it’s also a generational mocking the archane concept and election of a homecoming queen.
Try to laugh a little.

Any truth to the rumor that Barney Frank will be giving the commencement address?

Its disgusting. No, i won’t laugh at it.
It’s hard to laugh when the culture I grew up in is the butt of every “joke”. You don’t get to ever mock liberals in a collegiate environment. Try showing up in blackface,, try doing some demonstration mocking gay day, or vagina day, try doing something that casts islam as a terrrorist religion. Then see how much they get told to laugh a little.
Only giving us the finger is ok.
and it’s “arcane”.

I used to work with a dude who lived there ... dude's "housemate" (wink-wink, nudge-nudge, knowwhatImean) used to call the office
during the day to report the crazed goings-on.
No ... I've never been there on Halloween. I'm sane.

I work so close that it’s hard to avoid - the festivities start mid-afternoon. I wonder if that neighborhood was deliberately selected by the community because of its proximity to the cathedral.
