Barack Obama has been embroiled in a cronyism row after reports that he intends to make Louis Susman, one of his biggest fundraisers, the new US ambassador in London.
The selection of Louis Susman, a lawyer and banker from the president's hometown of Chicago, rather than an experienced diplomat, raises new questions about Mr Obama's commitment to the special relationship with Britain.
American commentators denounced the selection of a rich friend to the plumb post, regarded as one of the most prestigious in the president's gift, as worthy of a "banana republic".
They said it was proof that Mr Obama has turned his back on his campaign pledge to end politics as usual.

If and when the 2010 election comes. My bet is the Democrats will be trying to Impeach him to save their hides. They can not exist without Capitalism to support the stupid liberal programs. When Obama destroys capitalism there will be no way to fund their idiotic “safety net”

They used to come in handy when we had to take military action to defend ourselves in some capacity—and they were always there to back us up. That’s not so likely until the Tories are back—and then Obama will want even less to do with them.
Joseph Kennedy was appointed Ambassador to the Court of St. James by FDR. I think that should define the current lower limit for a corrupt appointment. How does this new guy stack up to the old bootlegger?

Pragmatically speaking, if I had raised that much money for the Obamessiah, i wouldn't be satisfied with the Ambassadorship to Honduras, either. OBTW, speaking of the money: Obama raised about $1 Billion+ from only Allah knows where. He spent about $750 Million to get elected. What happened to the "Change?" Just curious.
