In 2007, the median income of households headed by an Indian American was approximately $83,000, compared with $61,000 for East Asians and $55,000 for whites.

Indian-Americans are 3% of the nation's engineers, 7% of its IT workers and 8% of its physicians and surgeons.

So, those IT workers aren't exactly doing the jobs Americans don't want to do.

I wonder what affect marriage rates have on those numbers. I'd like to see the crosstabs.

Yeah, we have all those unemployed American doctors just begging to take care of patients.

“Indian-Americans are 3% of the nation’s engineers, 7% of its IT workers and 8% of its physicians and surgeons.”

I would like to see the source of those statistics regarding engineering, IT and physicians. Based on my experience in NJ they can’t include ‘guest workers’, illegals (or off-shoring for that matter).

My guess would be that AEI (American Enterprise Institute) is very pro globalization, pro open borders, pro guest workers.
