How media sucks up to White House By: Michael Calderone March 3, 2009 04:10 PM EST

In a profile last month, The Washington Post described deputy White House chief of staff Jim Messina as a “low-profile aide” who begins “fixing President Obama’s problems” before 7 a.m., works 14 hours straight and then hits the gym.

Not to be outdone, POLITICO noted the next day that White House chief legislative liaison Phil Schiliro — another “low-profile” official but one possessing “Buddha-like Zen” — is already working in the West Wing by 6 a.m.

Time says reporters admire White House press secretary Robert Gibbs (“The President’s Warrior”) because he “has the president’s ear and can get to the commander in chief when an answer is needed.” The New Yorker says White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel is “a political John McEnroe, known for both his mercurial temperament and his tactical brilliance,” yet is also uncommonly indifferent to both criticism and praise.

Welcome to the “beat sweetener.”

In the early days of any administration, reporters reach out to the men and women who might become their sources over the next four years — then slather them with glowing profiles suitable for framing in their mothers’ bedrooms.

Even garden-variety government officials become political superheroes, each one harder-working and more down-to-earth than the last — and all of them enjoying the ear of the president.

Reading once again about Gibbs’ folksy ways, his pastel ties and his Alabama roots, a part-time political junkie might question the need for yet another profile of the hard-working press secretary who’s always within earshot when the president weighs a big decision.

It’s pointless to write about this... The media lost it’s soul long ago. It’s like trying to convince a demon that he should convert.

Agreed.

Conservatives spend a lot of time pointing out media bias, and democrat hypocrisy, it's almost masturbatory.

OK, great we have well established those things, but is anyone listening or cares?

If they did, the election would have turned out differently.

We need to go to the next step. Eff the media, they are the enemy. Time to compete with them and shut them down.

When Stephie Stephanopolis has a telephone confab every morning with the White House for the daily talking points, it’s too late for the MSM. No ethics. Ethics with the Democrat Party have been dead as a doornail for a long time; it just took their arm, the MSM, a while longer to get the message from the head.

I think it’s VERY important to keep reporting on media bias.

Remember all those years when they screamed “dissent is patriotic”?

Well, now they’re about to tell us that dissent is NOT patriotic. They’re already saying that about Rush.

To fight back we HAVE to keep repeating and offering daily proofs about their bias.

To ignore that is to cede the issue to them. Which is what we ALWAYS do. We cede the issue to leftists because it seems to repetitive to fight them over and over again on their lies.

It is repetitive. But we have to get BETTER at repetitive. Like a 50-caliber machine gun. That’s repetitive too.

There’s nothing wrong with repetitive... not if your aim is straight.

Remove the last four words of the title, and you've just about got it. :-)

Cheers!

When Stephie Stephanopolis has a telephone confab every morning with the White House for the daily talking points

The White House has an inside-the-press-room media propaganda group working, shown by phone records obtained under FOIA and analyzed. Hundreds of phone calls per day pass among these four key Administration players:

What is important here is that Begala and Stephanopoulos are continuing to function as Clinton/Obama Administration information-warfare assets, under press cover.

Conservatives and GOP'ers need to publicize this and pound on it. The media are unreliable; the media are compromised whores for the Democrat Party and the Administration. The media are waging infowar against the People for the benefit of the left wing of the Democrat Party.

what about the wh attacks on the first amendment?

what about the media REFUSING to examine Obama with the same fervor they disected every GWBush move?
