The Obamas, Barack and Michelle both, pretty much diplomatically botched the recent visit of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife. Oddly enough, the U.S. Old Media seems uninterested in the story that is a hot topic in England, a story that's left many Brits a bit miffed.

still do not understand way the Brits are upset. They got the president they wanted.
A total lack of experience on his part, in the “greater politics” of this nation. Maybe he knows the politics of the streets and of Chicago corruption, but that doesn’t play well with other countries...
This total lack of experience should be a campaign issue for the next election and how he’s botched several different things.
And also, remember... “It’s the economy, stupid!”
What percent of Brits wanted Obama in the first place. I'll wager a high number.
Why would they report it, chessplayer? He is their Messiah.
If I’m not mistaken, he also gave back a bust of Churchill what was in the White House. When the Brits said to keep it, he said no thanks and returned it anyway.
**So, what did President Obama give the British PM? 25 movies on DVD. Yeah, that’s it. Brown gives a symbolic gift like the pen holder fashioned from a famous British warship and Obama responds by sending a staffer to WalMart to pick up a few quick movies.
How thoughtful. Or not.
And I’m not the only one to scoff at this thoughtless gift. The entire British press is up in arms. Many in Britain are seeing this as entirely gauche and indicative of the low esteem in which the Obama’s hold England.**
Its the new US nationalism that people refuse toacknowledge because they cannot face the fact that Obama is a fascist,a nationalist black power socilaist.
And now America is stuck with him. We will be lucky if heis weakness does not bring us a war.
I mean his conduct s a sign of weakness, not friendly, not diplomatic, and it invites aggression.
Not good news for our country.
Cheap tricks and sucker punches are the marks of a coward. Which is what Obama truly is.
And Obama makes his way among real men of power through petty oneupsmanship? He will make no friends and be considered an immature boor in the realm of diplomacy.

Please, please, do not use the word Messiah to describe Obama.

From what I remember of Carter, as inept as he was, I never detected that he intentionally tried to be unfriendly to other countries.

Gordon Brown is blind in one eye and fearful of losing diminished sight in the other. So much for thoughtfulness.
Hope those DVD’s were in UK format, not U.S. Otherwise Mr. Brown will have to squint at zig-zag.
I read somewhere here, that Michele’s still pissed at the Brits over the slavery issue. They *really* need to get over it, if they plan on truly governing this nation. (Yes, I meant “they”)
The media is pretty rough in Britain - especially the tabloids.
They will be after him now that they feel slighted. They were slighted.
I don’t understand how it could have happened given that we have an office that handles this kind of thing.
Was it intentional? Who is in charge of that office that is involved with protocol? Maybe just another incompetent tax cheat.

I read somewhere an article speculating why Obama was not a fan of Churchill. Seems Churchill is not the beloved statesman and WW2 hero in Kenya because of his role in putting down the Maumau rebellion there.
And now they he said today that we are losing in Afghanistan and we will have to make overtures to the moderate Taliban. God help us.
