Bull. First, let's dispense with "anti-Semite" -- a confusing term since Arabs can be Semites and many Jews aren't.
Even anti Jewhaters don't get it right. Antisemite, no -, has absolutely nothing to do with "semites". It's a political term coined by a late 19th century German politician, Wilhelm Marr, with a specific meaning, Jew hatred. Beyond that, the term semite wasn't racial, rather a linguistic term referring to people who spoke Arabic, Hebrew, "semitic languages", though it now has a cultural meaning as well.
You are correct about the historical origin of the term “anti-semite.” It was coined by the German Wilhem Marr, who wasn’t ashamed at all about enthusiastically including himself in that category. Many other prominent Germans followed Marr’s lead, which eventually contributed to the rise of the Nazi Party 50 years later.
