Apparently there's an air show going on today in Titusville where the show ends an hour before the launch.
How many air shows can you say end with a freakin shuttle launch?

The Mission Management Team has completed its pre-fueling meeting and given the launch team approval to begin filling space shuttle Discovery’s external tank with its cryogenic propellants as planned this morning.

Joe Acaba - Mission specialist and Science/Math teacher from Dunnellon Middle School, Dunnellon, FL! (west of Ocala).
I was in his 8th grade science class working on his computer the day he got the news that NASA chose him. He's an awesome teacher; even more awesome in that he's scheduled to space walk on this mission.
Godspeed, Mr. Acaba!

Fueling begins. Today’s filling of space shuttle Discovery’s external fuel tank started at 10:20 a.m. EDT with the chilldown thermal conditioning process. This will be followed by the slow-fill mode and then the fast-fill mode to load the tank over the next three hours.

The liquid hydrogen loading has transitioned from chilldown to the “slow-fill” mode. This fills a small fraction of the tank, then the loading switches to “fast-fill” mode.

There are no technical issues being addressed by the launch team, NASA says. Both liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen are continuing in “slow-fill” mode.

One of the main reasons why I wish I live in Florida...
Years ago, we were visiting family in Orlando and really wanted to see a scheduled launch - this would have been one of the first ones, and they got big TV coverage.....but it got scrubbed due to heavy rain.
We flew home to California the next day, and at least got to hear the massive twin sonic booms when it came into Edwards a few days later
