Now the president can do a doobie in peace.

If that’s what they want, change the laws.
A country with harsh specific laws that are selectively enforced or overlooked in some places is an arbitrary dictatorship.
Imagine being a LEO and being faced with what the law says, and that your boss wants you to ignore certain aspects for certain people and certain cases.

Huh? The Feds will choose to enforce a federal law only when a state law is also broken?? ... Somehow I doubt that they'll apply the same logic when it comes to gun laws and a whole slew of other issues.

why doesn’t he make all drug laws up to the states and shut down the DEA?

I’m happy to hear that, finally, there is ONE issue w/ President Obama that I can agree w/. It’s good to see that he may respect the 10th Amendment rights of the states to decide their own medical marijuana laws, but I wish that he & Congress would go even further than that: eliminate ALL federal penalties against marijuana, & let the states choose how restrictive or how lenient they & the people would like to be on both the industrial, medical & recreational uses of marijuana.
