We need to act like adults in this country and stop pretending that the war on drugs does anything except fuel a civil war south of the border, act as a welfare program for the prison industry and erode our civil rights. Grow up people, it’s not any worse than cigarettes or alcohol, and prohibition has a lot of horrible side effects.

Well said. The federal government should shut down its drug war. If that states want to try to continue it, let them on their own dime.

Amen to everything you said. Unfortunately there are still many apologists for the War on Drugs around here, and in the country as a whole.
