Omnibus Bill will steal access of public lands from future generations!

Omnibus Public Lands Bill to be Voted on Tomorrow!

The American Motorcyclist Association urges everyone to contact their Representative to vote "No" on the rule and on the final passage of H.R. 146, the Revolutionary War and War of 1812 Battlefield Acquisition Grant Program. This bill was formerly known as S. 22, the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009, which would prohibit all motorized vehicle access on over 2 million acres of public lands.

As you may know, S. 22 was defeated two weeks ago, on March 11, in the U.S. House of Representatives. Following defeat of the bill, the U.S. Senate leadership, using a little known parliamentary procedure, considered H.R. 146, inserting the language from S. 22, and passed the bill on March 19 by a vote of 77 to 20.

Now H.R. 146 is back for consideration in the U.S. House of Representatives and consists of a daunting collection of more than 160 pieces of legislation in over 1300 pages of text. It is because of this that, for parliamentary reasons, the House Leadership wants to consider H.R. 146 under regular order. This would mean that the bill needs only a simple majority to pass. In order for this bill to be considered under regular order, the U.S. House must first pass a rule.

Therefore, in order to help preserve your access to vital public lands, everyone needs to contact their Representative and urge them to first vote "No" on the rule regarding H.R. 146. Then they must also be asked to vote "No" on the final passage of H.R. 146.

Don't think that this is just a bill that will restrict off road vehicles access to public lands because it is not.

Industries like logging, mining and oil field production will also most likely be prevented from accessing millions of acres of "Public Lands"...

undoubtedly something else ‘the public’ wanted CHANGE and HOPE on during last years campaign.....

Funny how the GOP Revolution ran on a 10 point agenda which they publicized and published PRIOR to getting elected and then did exactly that and nothing else in their first 100 days.

Pelosi, on the other hand, campaigned on nothing but the Obama platitudes. She then has been slipping in item after item outside of public view without any approval of the voters or even the courtesy of public notification.

This is how Marie Antoinette lost her head.

BO is really stickin’ it to our children and grandchildren. It’s what dictators do, I guess.

Yes, but keep in mind. For a lot of us here, it's our children and grandchildren (and their peers) who elected him.

At least -- right now -- we have a chance to do something to stop it. Follow the link in the original post and send an email or call your representative.

The other thing I think needs to be shouted about is that this would prohibit many of the handicapped from ever setting foot on public land. It is, on its face, discriminatory. When Carter passed the Wilderness Act, it had the same effect. The only people our Overlords think should be allowed on public land are bean-sprout eating hippy types who are into hiking. Everyone else can just stay out. As for the industries, and the jobs they represent, Congress could care less. Everything Congress does just makes us less competitive, poorer and more dependent on imports.

Land and resources set aside for the Chicoms. That’s the deal hillary made with the commies to keep buying our debt. Some day we will need to go to war to use our own resources.

All this will come out as the traitors are led to the gallows.

I hope you are wrong.

The problem is that the majority of Americans do not know the the first thing about our “Public Land & Resources” and what is at stake here.

They know a little bit about ANWAR but they don’t see that the same thing is happening here with this Omnibus Bill.
