They claim they will defend their territory, which is fair. What will anyone do if the trajectory arches safely over Japan on the way to Alaska?

I’d say that if a missile enters Japanese airspace, it has already violated their territorial rights, arch or not.

To my knowledge, unlike Tokyo, The President has made NO such public statement as to what his constitutional authority is and what he would do if this thing, or fragments of it, somehow comes into American territory.

The conservative, anti-communist Japanese, leadership under Prime Minister Aso here in Tokyo in the last few days, made clear and unequivocal statements as to what THEY would do to protect Japanese territory and citizens, and are showing it for the entire world to see. Obama has done nothing but go on late night talk shows and talk about bowling and make jokes about the retarded, and maybe send out Hilary or some other State Department flunkies to make a few, paper-tiger (oooh, now I'm scared!!) type meaningless warnings.

Which leads one to believe that the Japanese leadership must be watching Obama, just as on the other hand are all of our international enemies in Caracas, Havana, Teheran, San Salvador, Gaza, Damascus, and wondering why he has said next to nothing about this impending attack, test, (or whatever one wants to term it) on the Asia-Pacific region.

Japan should just shoot the d..n thing down and make no apologies. That would put Japan at the top of the nations who still have a pair. Of course, it would put the US at the bottom along with Gilligan’s Island.

The North Koreans are about to find out that you don't mess with the Japanese and their latent Bushido code.

You will get no argument out of me regarding that.

As a matter of fact, right now I am watching live (at 1930 local Saturday night here) Japanese TV of the Japan-Bahrain soccer game. I am getting a noticeable feeling of rising nationalism in this country due to the North Korean threat. In that huge Japanese crowd in Saitama (Japan) at the sports stadium, there were some guys waving a HUGE, big-ass Japanese Imperial flag, in addition to the current Japanese national flag, i.e THIS one:

Probably unthinkable 10 years ago...And everyone is having a grand time, yelling "Nippon! Nippon!".

Even ultra-anti-communist Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara made some eye opening comments yesterday. Methinks the Japanese will turn to nationalism to ward off North Korea next door, in the absence of American Leadership and the Power Vaccum most noticeably growing what with the Obama Administration and its weakness.

The Japanese can spot strength (they respect it), and weakness (they disdain it), when they see it.

North Korea isn’t even a threat to South Korea anymore. They are more of a nuisance than anything.

I don't know where you get your information, but they a) possess some really nasty stuff; and b) are of the idiotic, trigger happy mind to use some of it. There are DPRK terrorist imbeds already on Japanese soil ready to act; I would never dismiss them as a "nuisance" as you have.

For those who didn’t understand the language in the video, the announcer was simply repeating over and over again: “Thank you President Reagan!”

He'd give them another trillion dollars to get them to stop, then they'd shoot more a get him to give them "Mo Money".

One thing is sure. President Reagan would not put up with this Pyongyang crap as much as The Illicit Kenyan is.

I would expect plenty of “tests”(Iran,China etc) of military prowness in the next several months eventually leading up to the so-called crisis that Joe Biden hinted at quite openly.

For all his negatives, I felt 100% safer with GW Bush in the White House.

Flame away.....
