Pretty breezy in the Orlando area but they say conditions are OK with a second possible landing at 3:14pm if necessary. ;-)

I think the launching part is easy... The landing is the most nerve wrecking part...

“The astronauts on space shuttle Discovery are preparing to spend what is planned to be their final night in orbit, with wake up set for 5:13 a.m. EDT Saturday to ready for a 1:39 p.m. landing at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Weather conditions are forecast to be acceptable for the shuttle’s return home to Florida.”

Cool, mellow, but cool. I am returning to my early 80’s angst, my pre_Reagan era. Second childhood? Either way the rage and power of Alternative/Punk Rock makes me feel better and gives me the right outlet. :)

I’ll be on the golf course when it comes in. Hope it doesn’t do the “Boom-boom” in my backswing! All kidding aside. When I hear the sonic booms, it gives me chills.

NWS Forecast for Brevard County

Today...Partly sunny. A slight chance of afternoon showers. Windy. Highs in the upper 80s. South winds 20 mph and gusty. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Lake Wind Advisory ... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 11 am this morning to 6 PM
EDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a lake Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 11 am this morning to 6 PM EDT
this evening.

The pressure gradient between a ridge of high pressure over the
western Atlantic and a developing storm system over the Central
Plains is forecast as the storm intensifies and moves northeast
today.

South winds will increase to around 20 mph across all of east
central Florida with occasional gusts up to 30 mph. Conditions
will be particularly hazardous on area lakes... and open waterways
such as the intracoastal.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Strong and gusty winds will create rough and hazardous boating
conditions on area lakes and the intracoastal waters. This may
result in high waves which may tip or swamp small craft.

I would not call 80’s Dylan “mellow.” This was when he had his “born again” experience and chucked his entire catalog and went on the road singing his explicitly Christian songs. Those who had him tagged as the guru of the social revolution were infuriated with him.

Contrary to what a lot (most) folks think, he was never about the image that others created around and about him. His line from “Maggie’s Farm” sums it up, “I try my best to be just like I am. But, everybody wants you to be just like them.”
