I noticed you’ve forgot GWB. Why is that? Unless or until we learn that the destruction of our economy was a BIPARTISAN effort, we are doomed to repeat the same mistake!!

THIS particular thread addresses ONLY the CRA, Freddie, Fannie and the rest of the mortgage-loan fiascos which account for 90% of the economic crisis and even the fundamental causes even of everyone’s, including AIG’s, failed investment portfolio.

Well that's all fine that Bush had some responsibility in this mess and deserves some blame, but he's not in office anymore. The others, with the exception of Carter STILL are.

Shouldn't we be concentrating on them?

there is nothing wrong with an ownership society, as long as it is based in reality, not phony mortgages
Bush tried to regulate fannie 20 times, but who controlled congress?

Yeah..., this mess we’re in now actually goes back to even before Clinton’s time. It’s all been building, as a “house of cards” and the entire country going further and further into debt, until all it took was some “straw” (that broke the camel’s back) to tip the whole thing over on its side. It was going to happen sooner or later. If McCain had been in office, it would be going on, just like now and just the same...

As hard as you want to try, (and Pres. Bush was not a perfect pres - but a hell of a lot better the Kerry or Gore would have been)you can not really lay this at Bush’s feet. He did try to bring up the the fact that the system was headed for trouble. Several times. Dodd and Frank and the demwits that CONTROLLED congress ignored him. How many bills that they know Bush wanted would they attach items that Bush didn’t want. He had to sign or else the Demwits would not give him what he needed. The Democrats OWN THIS MESS. They did in 2007 and they still do. Now Obama will NOT take TARP money (payments) from the banks. That’s my money and your money he will not except back to pay off these loans. People should be mad as he** about that. Why does he want to keep the debt up there?

Bush is NOT running again.
We can disagree on some issues, but, Bush DID warn that Freddie and Fannie were going broke, and Barney Frank and the Congressional Black Caucus ignored Bush and Mccain on this issue.

In 2010 AND 2012, Republicans will run candidates who can NOT be blamed, in any way, for the financial mess.

Then all the lib rats will be in BIG trouble!

There was only space for 4 people on the poster...

Maybe they should do another poster and have all the people on it who took out loans they knew they could not afford... or maybe they should have Bush all 11 or 13; I can’t remember now, times that he warned congress about the potential meltdown of the housing market due to mismanagement by the people in charge... the same people on the currently proposed poster.

The tea parties are for one purpose and that is to draw attention to the current administration and what it is THEY specifically are doing to wreck the economy and the country for now and future generations.

I see you are very involved in the fight against illegal immigration. I’m glad to support you in that. But if we are taken over by Socialists none of that will really matter. If we close off the borders yet become a 3rd world country we will have accomplished nothing. Better yet, let’s let them deliver the country to the devil in a handbasket then you can leave the borders open and no one will come over them anyway.

American’s will be clamoring to move to Mexico then. I personally believe your call to have Bush put on this sign has more to do with your feeling about his stance on illegal immigration. He was weak on more than a few things but a dang sight better than the bozos we have in office right now.
