This is the terrifying moment a woman was attacked by a polar bear after jumping into its zoo enclosure.
The 32-year-old leapt over bars at Berlin Zoo during the bears' feeding time yesterday.
Despite six zookeepers' efforts to distract the four predators kept in the enclosure, the woman was bitten several times on her arms and legs.
The brave keepers eventually managed to push the bear away and pull the woman to safety.
She was bitten by one of the four older polar bears in the enclosure and not by the famous Knut, who took Germany by storm as a cub after he was hand-raised by a keeper.
It is not known why the woman pulled the dangerous stunt but she initially appeared to be elated as she swam towards a bear in the enclosure.

I read the word "ignorant". I thought that warranted a reply.
Fair enough.
Your response, it seems to me, was as you had read the word "racist."
Fine. Just replace the word “racist” with the word “ignorant” when you read my posts.
You think that's a smart, productive way to carry on civil discussion? To embrace being offended by a word not used, and then when somebody gently points it out, in a friendly, civil way, you respond in a huff with what seems to me to be quite a lot of irrational heat: Fine. Just replace the word racist with the word ignorant when you read my posts.
You really think the words "racist" and "ignorant" are interchangeable? Because I'm here to tell you, they aren't. And if you think they are, you will often be misunderstood and offended.
“A white kid is historically more likely to grow up in a
suburban home and have his own hoop to practice jump shots.”
“A white kid in the suburbs where almost every home
has a backyard swimming pool...”

Jeff,
I certainly don’t know who you are
or where you gained your so called “experience”,
but...
I “was” a white kid (I’m old white man now)
and I never had either of those luxuries.
I was basically an adult before I ever held a basketball
or saw a swimming pool.
Be advised that this is why it is WRONG to ever
try to stereotype “people” based on their race
whether they be black, brown, white, red, or yellow.
Actually, on this topic, I think you are full of she-ite.
It is a general truth that white kids are far more likely to grow up in the suburbs, learn to swim, and have their own basketball hoops than black kids. The post-WWII suburban “experience” is a reality. The fact that it doesn’t apply to you does not mean that it does not exist.
It is not “wrong” to observe that true generalization. It is stupid to to deny it.
Apparently you think that because not every white kid fits that generalization, that it somehow invalidates it. That displays a complete inability to understand the definition of words.
It is a commonly held belief which is taught in our liberal academies that stating a generalization is stereotyping. It is not, and if we cannot use generalizations in our conversations, we cannot discuss anything at all. All we can do is parrot politically correct talking points.
Be advised that words have meaning.
You make a good point. The posts I responded to did not directly use the word “racist”. I’ll stand by the facts in my posts but apologize for the heated nature of them.

Tell me, what alternative universe are you living in?
During the early '80's in my home town, a drunk frat boy jumped into the Polar bear enclosure, which looks like it was very much like the one in this story. Those bears were almost killed as well as some people wanted to recover the remains of the kid from the bears digestive tracts. But, common sense prevailed and I believe they were spared.
It is wrong to stereotype INDIVIDUALS. It is not wrong to make general observations about the culture of different groups.
White folks living in the Upper Midwest are far more likely to eat tuna casserole than Mexican-Americans living in Texas. Is it wrong to "stereotype" people in that way?
Let’s see, a woman jumps into a Polar bear enclosure, a bear known to eat Eskimos like candy when ever they get a chance, the meanest bear in existence, including the mean a**ed Grizzy, and is bitten and they call this “shocking”? Who would be shocked about the bite except a bunch of dumb liberals who believe all animals are disney like characters who can talk and are smarter than people!(in this case I would say the bears were definitely smarter than this German idiot)
I beg to differ, it was feeding time for the Polar bears, he probably thought it was a special treat, live food!
I used to believe that, but I have read many reports of Grizzlies being the crankiest and most aggressive of the bears. They also have much larger, denser claws and denser bones than other species which makes them better fighters.
In colonial California, gamblers would stage matches between Grizzlies and fighting bulls, but the bulls would have their skulls crushed with a single blow from the Grizzlies. It was so lopsided that interest in the sport waned. They decided to import African lions to fight the Grizzles, but the results were the same.
How they see the hungry, 1200lb predator:
The last view they see of the 1200lb predator:
This liberal got off easy.
LOL! Thanks...
“must have been high on something.”
I see this as liberal ‘animal lovers’ mentality. They think that the animal will ‘feel’ their love and reciprocate it.
Similar thought process used with world dictators such as Iran’s, Cuba’s Venezuela, NK etc. They will feel our love as we get rid of our Nukes (go swimming with them) and then Wham!
