The Vatican has blocked the appointment of Caroline Kennedy as US ambassador, according to reports.

Vatican sources told Il Giornale that their support for abortion disqualified Ms Kennedy and other Roman Catholics President Barack Obama had been seeking to appoint.

Mr Obama was reportedly seeking to reward John F Kennedy's daughter, who publicly gave her support to his election bid. She had been poised to replace Hillary Clinton as New York senator, but dropped out amid criticism that she lacked enough experience for the job.

Ain’t that the truth. They deny her from assuming Senate because of an extramarital affair and Vatican says don’t send us “pro choice” people, so the geniuses at the WH figure, what about sending her to the Holy See? Yea, right.
Maybe Bambi should send up Dan Brown.

Say what you will about the Catholic Church and it’s past scandals, but Pope Benedict was an inspired choice. He’s quietly changing the standards and psychological testing for seminarians. He understands where the “sickness” within the Church is coming from and is taking steps to make sure it’s addressed.

Rejecteding pro-abortion (let’s call it what it is) candidates for ambassdor to the Vatican is yet another indication that Pope Benedict is serious about making sure the Vatican is sending the right message.

I know someone is going to ask why he doesn’t stop Obama’s speech and honorary degree at Notre Dame, but contrary to what some believe, the Catholic Church isn’t a dictatorship.

The press is playing this like it was a surprise.

I'm sure from Rome's perspective, this was yet another example of insulting, clueless behavior from the American Administration in its relations with Europe. The added dimension of insulting The Church and Catholics world wide just makes it a deeper, more disconcerting error.

How many pro-abortion ambassadors to the Vatican has Obama put forward only to have each of them rejected for that reason by the Pope? What was that definition of insanity again?

Obama is trying to personally embarrass the Pope and is failing at it. There are pro-life, or at least silent on the issue, Democrats who could be sent? Obama is specifically not choosing them after the first couple rejections. Next step will be to just not appoint an ambassador just to make the point.

Caroline Kennedy is married to a Jewish fella. And, the Vatican can’t wrap its mind around that!

While up ahead, who knows? Maybe, Obama is keeping score? He seems to desire to give Carolina a plum. And, there are more plums in his basket. While the Vatican my rue the day it tangled with Obama.

True. You’re not there, yet. But no one is gonna convince the republican grass roots of anything. While, yes. Elections losses, in the past, have been known to do the trick.

You know, Investors Business Daily (NOT a democratic organ), had a wonderful article yesterday entitled: FOR PIRATES, OBAMA’S BIG STICK.

Anyway, IBD says the pirates are gonna have to go into some other line of work? Hey. I know. The Vatican has an opening for a “tip top” negotiator.

Having “belief” is fine. But reality checks are better.
