Murphy gains as judge narrows challenges (Democrat expands his House edge)

The Saratoga County Board of Elections finished counting ballots Wednesday, but absentee voters in the county a stronghold for Jim Tedisco did not give the Republican enough of a boost to lift him above Democrat Scott Murphy in the entire 10-county district.

Tedisco finished in Saratoga County with a 163-vote advantage among absentee ballots, bringing the total county tally to 30,708 for Tedisco, 25,937 for Murphy.

Elections staff in Washington County also finished counting on Wednesday, padding Murphy's election-night win with 267 more votes for a total of 7,283 for Murphy, 5,578 for Tedisco.

At the end of the day, Murphy was up by 86 votes district-wide, and Columbia County a Murphy stronghold has not finished counting its paper ballots.

After hearing arguments from lawyers for both sides Wednesday, (State Supreme Court Justice James) Brands ruled in cases where a ballot has been challenged by a poll watcher but the elections commissioners unanimously overrule the objection, the ballot should be counted and then photocopied for possible later review by a judge. The ruling affects about 100 ballots, Murphy lawyer Henry Berger said.

Second, Brands ruled poll watchers may no longer use the application filed by absentee voters for a ballot as grounds for objecting to that voter's ballot. The Democrats estimate up to 1,000 ballots across the district were challenged because the voter didn't give a reason for his or her inability to vote in person that seemed adequate to a poll watcher.

My prayers go to Tedisco. It seems like the rats have the election-stealing playbook out and are following it page by page. I hope to God we get this one back.

Can I also safely assume that Steele is too busy doing something else rather than being on the ground? What a waste!

Maybe the Republicans should run candidates who can project a message that will appeal to enough voters that the vote on election day will be so strong that they don’t have to rely on absentee ballots to decide the outcome. Also, what was the turnout? 30 or 40%? Republicans have to learn how to get a turnout of their voters to overwhelm the opposition. If we continually lose recounts then we should do all we can to avoid the need for them.

They shouldn’t even bother with recounts. If it’s close at all, just give it to the Rat. There’s always Dem votes to mine. It’s not only due to fraud. Whenever 100% of precincts have reported, nearly all the ballots of people that knew what they were doing are in. The rest lean heavily Democrat. It’s not really surprising when you think about it. It also doesn’t help that Republican areas tend to follow the law when it comes to ballot disqualifications, and Rat areas count everything, at least once.

As I have been stating for weeks, Tedisco has spent the last twenty five years in the State Assembly as a party hack, whose primary job has been to make sure that Republicans get their fair share of the pork. He is part of the problem, not the solution.

Republicans have to learn how to get a turnout of their voters to overwhelm the opposition. If we continually lose recounts then we should do all we can to avoid the need for them.

We are not losing the recount, rather are losing the original count of the absentee ballots.

So, whenever it’s “too close to call,” read, “democrat wins.”

Murphy stated he would not support the death penalty for bin Laden.. in NEW YORK... and still wins. Absolutely amazing.

“The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, which is responsible for enforcing the federal statute that guarantees the right of overseas citizens and military personnel to vote by absentee ballot, contacted the New York State Board of Elections and requested that they issue their ballots sooner for this race. The two Republican members of the board voted to support this request. Yet the two Democratic members of the board, shamefully enough, voted against doing so.”

(The author of this article really did his research.)

I hope the military ballots issue gets more publicity because it might get the ruling changed to give military ballots more time to arrive in time to be counted, or at least the publicity will stop it from happening again.

I have a feeling that as long as it is a local issue, i.e. just the candidate making noise, then nothing will get done. For the life of me, I can’t understand why the national party is always so tepid. This also affects all those worthless Rino’s.

It’s so frustrating, which is a top reason that I want Tedisco to win. He is a fighter. You probably know how he gained national attention when he fought Spitzer when Spitzer wanted to grant driver’s licenses to illegals. Tedisco is a very good-hearted man, but yet scrappy when he needs to be.

I didn’t know about the Spitzer. Good for him. I hope he does fight and fight.
