"Clean coal is a dirty lie," says environmentalist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who calls President Barack Obama and other politicians who commit taxpayer money to develop it "indentured servants" of the coal industry.
Despite a series of expensive false starts and failures, President Obama proposed $3.4 billion in stimulus legislation to fund continued research on "clean coal" projects.
"Clean coal is like healthy cigarettes, it does not exist," says former Vice President Al Gore.
The coal industry has been running a multi-million dollar advertising blitz to promote the theory that coal can be made clean, using one of Obama's campaign speeches in its television commercials.

Well then, we should start putting up windmills just offshore from their “compound”
Calm down Robert, Obama has already promised to maim or kill the coal industry. I guess he’s not movin fast enuff for ya.
That said, existing coal is clean as far as I'm concerned. It just doesn't scrub out CO2, which is no problem at all in my book.
I think it's just lip services because so many unions (including my own ILA) are tied up in coal in some battleground states. Going back to the SF Chronical piece, he said he intends to bankrupt the coal facilities and I see no reason why that still isn't his intent in the long run. It's like Feinstein 'picking the right time and place' for assault weapons ban. They're just being 'coy' for now.
Ironically Obama's ancestor's weren't slaves (at least not in the USA), they were most likely slave traders.
I still think that most of the times these Libs 'blast' President Obama it is only for show. Trying to make him appear moderate. Obama outflanks all of them on the left, and his enviro policies will destroy our economy. RFK Jr., just dutifully offered his criticism to provide another fig leaf for the guy in the White House.
“Robert and Al should go live somewhere in wigwams...”
I wonder if the consider their “leavings” as pollution?
The writing on to wall is beginning to look like a neon sign..
Our President promised to bankrupt the coal industry through high taxation of the coal industry, also promised US “skyrocketing electric bills”. From his own mouth.
RFK Jr is a green freak and a hypocrite. And that’s all he can find to criticize the anointed one for?
When Helium Boy speaks...lighten up!
You’re probably right. Big O has to look like the good guy in all of this, so he let’s someone else do the dirty work.
one billion man march
I just can’t get over the words “dirty lie” and “Kennedy” used in the same sentance. ROFLOL!!!
Yep. Carol Browner is a likely candidate for that 'Old Maid'. :-) Notice how he has excuses for everything - and the MSM is saying 'how responsible' he is. lol. He wasn't born when Ayers did his bombing; wasn't in the church during _those_ sermons; was only 3 months old when the US was ravaging Ortega's band of thugs - like the US has done you wrong but, hey, don't blame me! (giggling like a child)
Oh, Bobby, go ahead and say what you really mean. You think Obama is an Uncle Tom to the coal industry.
This is disinformation meant to make The Marxist Onada appear to be other than he is—i.e. against American energy independence at all costs.
Does anybody know exactly how The Messiah is funneling money to the coal industry? I had no idea they were part of the porkulus/socialist stimulus packages. Did I miss something?
More proof that the environmental movement is nothing but back-door socialism when you have wacko RFK Jr criticize the most environmental wacko President in history.
And RFK wants us to be forced 'Indentured Servant(s)' for the Democrat Party.
btw, what were you doing watching abc news? I have an excuse. I was cooking dinner and my wife turned it on. She says she just does it to see me get all worked up over charlie’s bias.
