Murphy beating Tedisco by 365 Votes
The Business Review ^ | 4/23/09

Posted on 04/23/2009 10:51:54 AM PDT by jamese777

Democrat Scott Murphy expanded his lead by another 92 votes late Wednesday in the race to fill a Capital Region congressional seat.

Murphy, of Glens Falls, is now ahead of Republican James Tedisco, of Glenville, by 365 votes. The two are vying for a U.S. House of Representatives district that covers part or all of six area counties.

The seat has been vacant since late January, when Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) was appointed to the U.S. Senate.

As of Friday, Murphy has 79,951 votes; Tedisco has 79,586. The state Board of Elections is compiling the updated totals twice a day; all results are unofficial.

The sprawling, 10-county district covers part or all of six Capital Region counties: Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Warren and Washington.

The race has been a back-and-forth contest, and lawyers continue to challenge hundreds of absentee ballots in court.

McClintock. You can blame whomever you wish, but the blame belongs at Tedisco’s feet.

Last November.
Congressman Tom McClintock, a conservative Republican won in the recount in California’s 4th Congressional District over Democrat Charles Brown who is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel.

George W Bush had the bully pulpit for at least six years (two at least given to the 911 tragedy).

It is all contrived, if one does not understand it, one is naive.

The United States, defined by its physical boundaries and Constitution, could have been completely free, and independent from the rest of the world. But "they" will crucify Sarah Palin, or plunge the place into a third world gutter, before letting her or the like run for President.

How obvious is it?

John D. Rockefeller IV is head of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Eric Sundwall, Libertarian Party. Votes for Sundwall were on on absentee ballots.
He later threw his support to the Democrat.

If it makes you feel better to think that a few absentees with Sundwall’s name on it are the reason Tedisco didn’t win, I really don’t care. But don’t tell those of us who actually live here and know about this race that we are wrong when you haven’t the foggiest clue what you are talking about.

Nonsense. Anyone who actually knows the race isn’t whining about a few absentees for the Libertarian.

Tedisco should have won this race decisively and he died by his own hand. Nobody to blame but him.

Call a talk show in the 20th district even if you’re not from the district, and ask them if they know how many military votes will be thrown away because they didn’t arrive on time.

“In New York, ten counties make up the 20th congressional district, and nine of them sent their absentee ballots to overseas voters too late for them to be received and returned in time to count in this election. One county mailed them on March 12 and eight counties mailed them on March 13, all by regular mail with only one ..”

Even if you’re for Murphy, fight for the rights of our troops, PLEASE.
