I swear I am going to b*tchslap the next person who implores me to vote for a RINO.

Many conservatives received a lot of undeserved criticism because they refused to vote straight party line or choose the lesser of two evils, opting instead to withhold their vote when neither candidate represented me. |

Hopefully the RINO purge will reduce the impetus for a third party. Let’s take over the Republican party like the Marxists have take over the Democrat party.

Michael Steele did just that in Maryland’s 1st congressional district in the last election.
Almost every elected Republican in the state came out for the conservative Andrew Harris who was challenging the Rino Gilcrest. Even former Maryland (R) Governor Robert Erhlich (With whom Steele ran as Lt. Gov) came out against the Rino and for Harris. Steele supported the rino who later, after being defeated by the conservative in the primary, endorsed both the democrat and Obama. The democrat won in a very close race thanks to Steele’s efforts.

No party owns me or my vote. Yep. A simple fact that many party operatives refuse to acknowledge.

RINO rage ping! Saw Brite Hume tonight upset about R party turning on Spector. But Bill Crystal called it a win (longer term) for R party. Why? It’s the start of democrats being held responsible once they have full power.

The GOP saw what happens when you put up a “progressive light” (McCain) against a full-fledged “progressive” (Obama).
You lose.
Why are there some within the GOP who want the GOP to go moderate or moderately liberal?
Abortion.
They want the GOP to be conseravtive on fiscal policy and national security (2 of the 3 legs) but they want to cast aside the 3rd leg (social conservativism).
IT WONT WORK.
Social conservatives will not show up to vote if the GOP keeps putting up RINOS in Senate races, House races and presidential races.
Reagan types and only Reagan types.

I’m tired of insipid vanities.
All you have to do is to win primaries and general elections and then you don’t have to write whiney vanities.

Well, where do you live? If you live in any state and congressional district where it is feasible to elect a conservative, I doubt anyone on FR would ever implore you to vote for a RINO.
But, if you’re a place where we need to unseat a heavy duty leftist, and conservatives haven’t proved electable, well. . . don’t forget that politics is the art of the possible.

Next thing you know, Mitt Romney will pop out of the woodwork, big as life and twice as toothy, and start advising us to vote for more “moderates,” as if we can’t use John “I was a prisoner of war” McCain as “Exhibit A” for what happens when we do!
(Is anyone else beginning to, just a little bit, if not exactly sympathize with, then at least begin to understand why the North Vietnamese wanted to treat that smarmy arse so badly?)

Did it ever occur to you the persons you deride as “RINOs” may be doing exactly what they are supposed to do ; ie: represent the interests of those whom they serve ?
You have a viewpoint - and it may be the same one I share-but conservatives have been the tail of the dog for a very, very long time. In fact, considering the last election results, we are more the tip of the tail than anything else.
Insisting everyone else get in step with us-or else-is about like the fabled flea - floating down the river on his back, and screaming “ Open the drawbridge !”

I would, only to prevent the 60 vote Senate, but that ship has sailed, so to hell with the rinos. They either stand with us or against us.
