Bill O'Reilly: Obama Derangement (Barf Alert)
Townhall ^ | May 2, 2009 | Bill O'Reilly

Posted on 05/01/2009 10:32:42 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Remember the term "Bush Derangement Syndrome," which perfectly captured the hateful invective directed at the former president? Many conservatives condemned BDS, as they should have. Like him or not, the president tried hard to serve and protect America; he did not deserve to be the target of cheap shots all day long by crazy left-wing loons.

But now the proverbial shoe is on the other foot and ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome) is in play. The dictionary defines "derangement" as a form of insanity. After listening to some partisans evaluate Barack Obama's first 100 days in office, I have to say there is some madness in the air.

On my TV program the other night, I graded President Obama on his performance thus far. I gave him a "B" for domestic policy, largely because the stock market has stabilized and recession panic is receding a bit. I then awarded Obama a "C" in the foreign policy category because he has little to show for his public criticism of America. The Obama people will tell you that the president "planted a seed" while speaking overseas, but his spouting off about America's ills seemed weak to me.

Finally, I gave the president a "C-plus" for leadership. While his job approval poll ratings remain high, his waffling about the interrogation deal did not demonstrate a strong and forward-looking point of view to say the least.

Well, after that on-air report card, I received quite a few dissenting letters. One guy in Arizona said he was glad I wasn't teaching because I'd be the new Ward Churchill. A man in Denver said I had lost my mind because Obama deserved "F's" across the board. Still another guy opined that the president had accomplished nothing and that I should be ashamed.

So let me ask you, is ODS the same as BDS? I think it is.

Fairness is a hallmark of America. Our legal system, with its appeals process and litany of rights for the accused, is a great example of that. Greatness of any kind cannot be achieved without being fair. Tyrants may rule for a time, but they are never great.

Holding sincere opinions is also an honorable trait. There are fair-minded Americans who simply do not believe Obama's liberal view of the world is good for the country. Fine, no problem with that. But everything the man does is not awful, and to assign him sinister motives is blatantly unfair -- the same kind of inequity we saw heaped upon President Bush.

President Obama may turn out to be a disaster, or he may rise to greatness. At this point, nobody knows what will happen. That is the great thing about democracy and capitalism. When done right, those things give people a fair chance to succeed, and there's nothing deranged about it.

I am sooooo tired of faux conservatives, RINOs, mushy moderates, go-along-to-get-alongs and that ilk! Give me a KOSsack, DUmmy, peacecreep, Code Pinko or whatever, any day, since at least I know where they're coming from! Rush refers to Bill O'Reilly as "Ted Baxter" and this column is a great illustration of why that's spot on! I will be overjoyed the day BOR retires and Glenn Beck takes his place!

I think O’Reilly is right. We need to stay disciplined and focus on the issues where Obama is doing very badly like a laser. Spreading ourselves on too many issues and opposing Obama on all of them makes us look desperate.

To us, everything looks bad (and in reality is bad in the long run), but we should focus on a few things at a time so that the poison can work its magic and the seeds of doubt are placed when Obama turns out to be a catastrophic disaster.

Like it or not most of the bozos in America think he’s doing a good job and want to give him a chance.

Only discipline will undo the big lie the MSM has forced on us.

We watch O’Really just about every day and it sure has seemed to us that he has Obama pretty well figured out. He has slammed Obama on releasing those memos and Gitmo, and he has gone full bore against the illegal immigration issue. Never could figure out why some conservatives don’t take the good with the bad. I figure O’Reilly has been more friend than foe for awhile now.

“...but we should focus on a few things at a time so that the poison can work its magic and the seeds of doubt are placed when Obama turns out to be a catastrophic disaster.”

I agree completely. However, BOR was comparing a few dissenting emails that he received to full-bore Bush Derangement Syndrome. His ego led him to that stupid conclusion.

I want to throw rocks at my tv every time O’reilly says that Obama is naive and misguided.

Dear Billie Boy,

Obama/Pelosie/Reid just agreed to spend $4.5 TRILLION dollars! Where is all that money going to come from, Billie Boy? Obama is going to close down Gitmo and release dangerous terrorist among the American population. Obama is going to release hundreds of so called “torture” pictures which will foment hatred towards our Troopers. Obama released CIA “torture” memos against the advice of former heads of the CIA......and you are accusing me of ODS?

Billie Boy you are full of blarney. Go away, you bore me Billie Boy.

Anyone who says that FR is a right wing hate group is not someone you want to be agreeing with.BOR is no conservative and is not looking out for the folks as he likes to say.We give it to them as they gave it to us.Unless of course you want to lose this fight by playing nice with the rats.

O’Reilly does NOT understand the bailouts, the stimulus, and overall spending problems of this administration and the problems it represents. He will though when his dollars are worth about half of what they are now in upcoming years or the country goes bankrupt (China owned) - alas, it will be too late to complain about it.

His overall job (as he sees it) is to maintain some rapport with this administration to hopefully get them on his show and maintain ratings. That is a bit problematic to his beliefs - probably...

We need to oppose B. Hussein Firefly on all issues. He has been wrong on all of them so far. In the unlikely event that he’s actually right about something, we’ll support him on it. In the meantime, we have to stop as much of his agenda as we can before he turns our America into the People’s Republic of Obamastan.

I stopped watching B.O. when he began having “body language” experts on and doing Hollywood trivia to keep the libs entertained so his ratings would stay high.

I’d rather so something more stimulating intellectually....like scrubbing my toilets.

I have to agree with O’Reilly. My husband rolls his eyeballs whenever I speak of Obama. He tends to agree that because I don't care for Obama, I will never give him the benefit of the doubt. My husband is right.

I lose my Christianity whenever Obama is in the news, and as far as I am concerned, he is in it far too often!

I must pray for Obama so that God will work in my life and give ME a Christian heart. (It would be nice if God worked in Obama’s heart also!)

Just noticed that B.O. and B. O. have the same initials!

Wonder what O’Reilly’s middle initial is?

Bill O’Reilly has no moral compass. He is all over the map in his “beliefs”. He knows Obama is disaster. Why he is “pontificating” on this garbage is beyond me.

Maybe, someone told him to lighten up on the messiah. Who knows...O’Reilly has no credibility.

If we yell and scream just to yell and scream them O is going to continue to be popular with the people we need to win back to the conservative side of the aisle... we all need to use intelligence in what we say and where and how we say it.

I’d say your last paragraph describes pretty darn well what O’Really’s priorities are. He, like Rush Limbaugh, and the rest, are in it for the money and fame above all else. Their principles get shoved aside on occasion for the almighty dollar.

There are many times I’ve yelled, “hell ya!” to what Rush says and the same to O’Reilly. And I’ve also cursed them out with words so blue they’d make a Smurf look pale.

Well agree, except you tend to put others in the same boat that probably do not belong there. Rush has been a conservative his whole life and says what he thinks - no, he does not give the Republicans a break when they are wrong. You might want to rethink putting all in the same boat.

I can be fair. When Obama does something I agree with I will admit it and give him credit. He has done only one or two minor things I agree with. So minor in fact I can’t remember what they were. I’ve been so offended and and shaken by his overall intent and several major happenings thus far, and the psycho liberal attitudes of his cabinet, including the all powerful DHS, that he indeed does not deserve passing grades.

In all honesty, he really has not accomplished much other than cramming massive spending bills through congress to deserve a grade one way or the other. The passing of laws is only the start of his job, not the end of it.

But what else has he accomplished to deserve a grade on?

Blaming America for the global recession & the financial crisis at the economic summit. The recession didn’t start here.

Cowering to N. Korea and not blasting its missle out of the sky with SDI.

Bowing to the Saudi King

Handing Chrysler over to the UAW instead of either bailing it out or letting it go into Chapter 11 with no strings attached. What he did was worse than either of them. Where does he get the authority to make up bankruptcy law on the fly?

Ordered Gitmo closed with no plan on where to put the prisoners.

Released interrogation memos and started a witch hunt for his predecessor and other political opponents.

There is plenty more, but I think we can get the idea here that he’s a joke of a president.

And so O’Reilly thinks I’m a right-wing loon? He really needs to stop sipping Obama’s koolaid and be willing to admit he was way off in his grading process and deserves the nasty letters he got.

Still looking for anything that I agree with...heh. At least you have some (although forgotten)...ha... Hard for me to agree with any of his Socialist ideas (backed by a Socialist Congress), bailouts, stimulus spending, intrusion into private businesses, etc... Am I forgetting anything important?

I don’t mean to put them in the “same boat”, but they’re floating in the same lake.

Rush could have used his voice to demand that Obama release his college, medical and birth certificate (NOT a COLB) records, but he didn’t. And for those who don’t think the birth certificate/eligibility issue are important, let’s just keep it to college and medical records. Obama is hiding something. I want to know what it is, we deserve to know what it is. This is the @$#%*& president of the United States of America! No Republican president could EVER get away with what Obama has gotten away with.

But Obama has been given a free pass by both the driveby media AND one of our so-called conservative leaders, Rush Limbaugh. I want to know why. I personally think that when push came to shove, Rush was afraid of the fairness doctrine and afraid of what Obama and the Dems could do to his show.

I could be wrong, but Rush will someday have to explain it to me (us) before I can ever respect him again. I used to listen to his show every day. Now, I don’t. I stopped being a regular listener when Rush decided the cost of defending Americans and the Constitution from a “possible” fraud taking over our country wasn’t worth risking his job over.

"ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome)"

It's obvious that ODS is a brain disorder of Obama voters. They are deranged for not being able to see the truth about him.
