LAKELAND, Fla. A father shot and killed his wife and two of his sons one 5 months old and the other 7 years old before killing himself in the front yard of their home on Sunday night, authorities said.
Another son, a 13-year-old, was pursued through the garage by his father, evaded several gunshots, and made it safely to a neighbor's house, Polk County Sheriff's Department spokesman Scott Wilder said in a statement.

Our prayers will be with the 13 year old survivor.
I just don’t get it.
I don’t know if these tragedies are stepping up in frequency or not, but they sure seem to be getting air time in the MSM.
It sure seems like quite a few have missed the memo about “hope” and “change”.. this has all been going on over the past several months.
Yes.
Somehow it all seems to get spun into “blame the guns.” If this were in Australia we’d probably be hearing of stabbings.
This horrible event and ones like them are because the father has failed economically, or wifey has become adulterous and dad wants to destroy everthing that the two created together.
Of course the papers will not write about these two things because they are not politically correct.Responsibility and motive are never discussed in domestic murders these days. That prevents us from understanding what happened, and the blame then remainis solely with the perpetrator as insane.
No reason is given for such insanity, it is simply assigned banality, and then not understood. And so adultery is OK, and the tragedy of financial oblivion and its effect are hidden because we must not blame the Presidents economic policy, for example.
In this sense we can"get it."
Prayers for the 13 yr old.
You and me both...
I just dont get it.
You and me both,
You want to check out. No problem, take youself out into the woods and suck on that gun. Good riddance.. But they are all to cowardly to go out on their own and always seem to need to take others with them.
No reason is given for such insanity, it is simply assigned banality
Of course not, then they can go after guns as the cause and give a pass to all the politically incorrect underlying dynamics.
I’m not sure whether we are supposed to fault the left-over Bush economy or the lax gun laws for this. It is clear that one thing is true; no one should ever blame the person who actually committed the murders. They are always merely another victim.
Or perhaps both were druggies and got into a fight....
No reason is given for such insanity, it is simply assigned banality, and then not understood.
Excuse me but obliterating your family due to personal economic failure is insane and cannot be understood. Murdering one's offspring because one is enraged at the other parent is sociopathic and indicative that he viewed his children as extensions of himself and/or as property or objects to be disposed of and not as human beings who are intrinically valued.
Regardless of the perceived reasons, this guy is soley responsible for his choice to be a selfish murdering scum. No one and no thing caused him to do this. He chose it.
Hideous. Absolutely beyond understanding.
He seems to be very hostile.
Pretty sure that’s his mug shot from an DWI in 1999. Nobody takes a good mug shot.
I do wonder if there is a history of either methamphetamine use or the use of prescribed anti anxiety drugs.
Too bad we all are not as prescient as you are and have to know facts.
And there are none stated as to motive. Now since you seeem to know the facts, why not tell us what they are instead of blathering and reacting?
LOL.
Or take a qualude.
