GRANTS PASS, Ore. The Obama administration's pick to be the new undersecretary of Agriculture in charge of the U.S. Forest Service has surprised conservation groups.
The White House announced late Tuesday that Mississippi state conservationist Homer Lee Wilkes, a 28-year veteran of the federal Natural Resources Conservation Service, is being nominated as the new undersecretary of Agriculture for natural resources and environment.
Andy Stahl of Forest Service Employees for Environmental Ethics says Wilkes is the first person in at least 30 years to be tapped for the job without any background in forest policy, indicating the Obama administration has no specific plans for managing national forests.
” Wilkes is the first person in at least 30 years to be tapped for the job without any background in forest policy, indicating the Obama administration has no specific plans for managing national forests.”
LOL!
Anyone really surprised by this?
Whenever I read about yet-another-incompetent pick I’m reminded of Obama continually hammering away at Bush’s “judgement” during the campaign.
but Andy didn't have any problems voting for a 147 day senator for President
Let me guess his race....
“Wilkes is the first person in at least 30 years to be tapped for the job without any background in forest policy, indicating the Obama administration has no specific plans for managing national forests.”
You want to bet? His plans will continue to make wilderness areas, national parks, etc. more difficult to access for the average person. It is federally owned property but they don’t want us peons on the property. As an example, look up White Nose Syndrome. They are using it as an excuse to keep cavers from entering caves.
That’s one possibility
or - the guy is connected somehow.
You guessed right. I searched images.google.com.
No where could I find his picture, but this was available.
Bio
Age: 52
Education: Jackson State University, BA, MBA, PhD
From: Jackson, MS
Ethnicity: Black
Wilkes has worked for the Agriculture Department’s Natural Resources Conservation Service for more than 30 years, most recently as Mississippi state conservationist.
good work!
And there you have it....
Like healthcare, federal owned properties, will ONLY
be available to high level Democrats and the Congressmen
and their families.
The rest of America..... must pay their way, and pay
for their whores, and pay for their trips, and pay
for their 15th homes, and pay for their entourages,
and pay for their endless vacations, and pay and pay
and then die ..... quietly without healthcare.
Not at all. He picks a guy that later on he can replace with a "Forest Czar" who WILL take complete control of the national forests and declare them all closed to humans.
You nailed it.
Let’s see how long it is until there’s some scandal in his background.
Not at all! It takes literally ZERO background in forest policy to say "hey Earth First! and Sierra Club and Greenpeace - what should we do?" All Wilkes has to do is make sure and demand enough payola to the Obamassiah, and then accurately report back the demands of those shuffling the cash...
So easy, even a caveman could do it!
Can’t help it if the list of Democrats that Obama owes favors to is narrow and parochial...
“Favors” are wrong when repubs do it and wrong when dems do it but somehow we the electorate tolerate the practice when “our guy” does the pimping (Michael Brown, Harriet Myers—we got angry and won that one, John Pennington, Hal Stratton, etc...).
Maybe he was the only one who had actually paid his taxes in the past few years.
LOL
