(IsraelNN.com) Despite the EU Parliament's vote Wednesday to legalize shechita, the Jewish method of humane animal slaughter is still very much in danger.
It was reported on Thursday that the European Jewish Community hailed the European Parliaments vote to legalize the traditional Jewish method of slaughter into European law. However, it was later clarified that in fact, the Parliament only has consultative status in this case, and that the European Unions Council of Agricultural Ministers will have the final say when it convenes next month. "During the original debate on this issue in Norway, one of the parliamentarians said straight out, 'If they don't like it, let them go live somewhere else.'"

Don't the moslems have a special way of killing animals (two-legged *and* four-legged) as well? I'll wager that the European bureaucrats wouldn't outlaw *it* in a million years!

No bet. Halal is A-OK with the eurowienies.

For those not personally involved religiously, it’s hard to see much difference between kosher and halal slaughter methods.

It is really simple. Kosher slaughter is performed by good Semites, so it is, well, good.
Halal slaughter is performed by bad Semites, so it is, well, bad.
Either way, the idea that God cares how you kill your food is laughable, particularly as children legally die from abortion.
“Whats that, God? You say you don’t mind the slaughter of the unborn as long as food is prepared in a properly magical fashion? You’re the best, God.”

A sentiment wholly supported here as regards illegal immigrants and other unwanteds. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Simply makes sense, doesn't it?

Idiotic knee-jerk reaction = not really unexpected. Far from it. It's born of decades of first hand experience, friends and relatives who have been attacked, and neighbors who ran away from it.
Nice try though.

Please do elaborate. I’d be interested to hear about your personal experiences. Really. Since it doesn’t parse with my personal experiences.

Sure. As a matter of fact, I was a gathering yesterday with a group of people. My friend related to me how had been beaten while walking in the street in Paris by to hoodlems. All the while, shoutin "dirty Jew", and lots of other things. There were at least 8 men at that gathering and half of them started talking about their "experiences".
My daughter visited Poland with her seminary and her Rabbi said to the girls who went that he could walk around in Poland "looking like a Jew", but not in most of western Europe. England, France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. Odd that since there are few Jews in Poland, it is more tolerant than in the places where there are larger populations.
I know quite a few Rabbis who serve from Russia to Austrailia and things in Europe are tougher than they used to be. A lot tougher. Security has to be beefed up, people feel fear in wearing Jewish apparel, and many leave.
I could go on and on being closely involved with Jews here and abroad. It is what it is.

Oh, the evil propaganda I guess (other than your unsubstantiated hearsay)... e.g.:
http://www.independent.ie/world-news/europe/70-years-after-the-holocaust-germanys-jewish-community-is-now-fastest-growing-41240.html
This reversal of fortune has seen Jewish immigration to Germany outstrip that to Israel. According to one rabbi, Israelis are flocking to Berlin, rather than German Jews making emigrating to Israel.
"Berlin is the place to be," Rabbi Walter Homolka, the principal of the Rabbinical Seminary in Berlin, said. Like Jews across the world, Rabbi Homolka was preparing for the Passover holiday, which celebrates the freeing of the Israelites from ancient Egypt.
Across Germany the number of Jews has swollen tenfold from the 23,000 members it counted in 1990. (...)

Pardon me, allow me to add: I do not doubt your statement that Jewish people have been attacked in Europe in recent times...the Israeli ambassador to Spain being attacked after a soccer match just last week comes to mind. But then, different ethnicities attack each other each week all over the world. Sad, but no reason to play the Jesse Jackson-like “persecution card” to make it sound like it’s some institutionalized problem.

According to one rabbi, Israelis are flocking to Berlin, rather than German Jews making emigrating to Israel
And according to many other sources attacks on Jews have done nothing but increase in Germany and the rest of western Europe. If you want to deny the plain truth before you, there is little to talk about.

Odd that since there are few Jews in Poland, it is more tolerant than in the places where there are larger populations. One of the reasons is that there are also few Muslims in Poland. But also, the Polish government has gone out of their way to improve Polish-Jewish relations.

Yes. Jews have been living in Europe and slaughtering animals for 2000 years. That is longer than existence of many European nationalities.
Either way, the idea that God cares how you kill your food is laughable, particularly as children legally die from abortion.
I suppose that going to religious services is also a joke as long as we have abortion?
So until abortion is restricted, we should just close down Churches?
