So what? The NACCP, The Black Caucus, The Buy Black Movement, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the Jena 6, Black thugs, and any number of blacks do racial crap all the time. I would defy anyone to point out any instance in history where the losing side of a rebellion suffered less and was incorporated back into the body politic faster than the Southern states.

The Confederate memorial is under attack in my town, some black activist says he is offended. I wish a white person would step forward and say he/she is offended by Martin Luther King Jr Drive. I led the fight to keep Birth of a Nation from being booted from the library a few yesrs ago. The same activist said he was offended and wanted it disgarded. I don't have time to take on the memorial right now, my mother is terminally ill. I did tell the UDC chapter that owns it they could put it in my yard. Williams' writings on the subject tend to be so filled with factual errors that they approach comedy rather than serious writings. Take this falsehood that Williams has repeated on many occasions:

"It was not just Southern generals who owned slaves but northern generals owned them as well. General Ulysses Grant's slaves had to await the Thirteenth Amendment for freedom. When asked why he didn't free his slaves earlier, General Grant said, "Good help is so hard to come by these days.""

One, neither Grant nor his wife owned slaves after 1859. Grant manumitted his sole slave before moving to Illinois. Mrs. Grant has use of several Dent family slaves but they were not legally her property. Missouri records indicate that all Dent family slaves were freed early in 1863 and Mrs. Grant is never seen with any of them after that time.

Two, even if Grant or his wife owned slaves during the rebellion, the Dent family were residents of Missouri. Missouri amended her constitution to end slavery in January 1865. After that, only Kentucky and Delaware legally allowed slaves. So Williams' claim that Grant slaves had to wait until the 13th Amendment was ratified in December 1865 would still be false since neither Grant or his wife lived anywhere that slavery was legal after January 1865.

Three, the quote 'Good help is hard to find' has never been sourced by any of the rebel supporters who have used it. In fact, there is absolutely no evidence it ever happened.
