What a shockingly distasteful thing to say. Totally classless.
This is the President of the United State's primary strategist and adviser. Imagine if Karl Rove had compared Susan Sarandon or Barbara Streisand to a dog, even if it was a throw-away line like Axelrod's. The indignation and outrage from the media would have been deafening.
