Hitler wanted Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scouts, arrested after Germany invaded Britain.

BRAVE
A Scout can face danger even if he is afraid. He has the courage to stand for what he thinks is right even if others laugh at or threaten him.

CLEAN
A Scout keeps his body and mind fit and clean. He goes around with those who believe in living by these same ideals. He helps keep his home and community clean.

A Scout is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties. He respects the beliefs of others.

Here is a hint, Kooks ... when an organization pops up that does the bidding of the government, and includes children singing songs to their Dear Leader, pledging oaths to that leader, and organizing voters and the census, then you can start the real comparisons to Hitler Youth.

The Soviet Union and Hitler's Germany were both convinced that the Boy Scouts was a US paramilitary training organization.

No surprise that readers of the Daily Kos share the twisted worldview of those two states. Same goals as well.

I don’t see how Obama could allow the Scouts to exist, with all his plans for Volunteerism and all.

As practically every country has its own Boy Scouts, does that mean that every country has it’s own Hitler Youth?

Why single out the United States? After all, you in the left like to claim that all countries are equal and no country is better than any other.

One of my Parish priests grew up on Van Gogh street in Amsterdam. One day he went to his Boy Scout troop meeting with his father and the Hitler Youth had taken over and told him there were no more Boy Scouts. They just turned around and went home. He was friends with Anne Frank.
