Heads Up, CA! Editorial: Vote 'No' on All Six State Propositions
orange county register ^ | staff

Posted on 05/18/2009 5:29:51 AM PDT by kellynla

The spendthrift governor and Legislature over-taxed and over-spent California state government into its current predicament. They put government employees first and taxpayers second. They routinely overestimated future revenue while consistently mismanaging the cash on hand. Their fiscal appetites regularly were greater than what they could afford, and they put off solving their financial problems by borrowing more and more, and shifting money around to pay for things taxpayers didn't intend that money to be spent on.

This should tell voters everything they need to know about Propositions 1A-1F on Tuesday's special election ballot. The same people who created this mess with their disingenuous, irresponsible taxing and spending now claim to have concocted a remedy – if voters will just say "Yes" to the propositions to authorize more taxing and spending.

We urge voters to say "No" Tuesday to all six propositions.

Does it matter? Won’t they try to override the vote anyway?

True, trying doesn't mean they'll succeed. But they can make life even more miserable for those of you in California.

And, there's no call for being sarcastic...

Did you know that the Republican party spent hundreds of thousands of dollars supporting 1A?

“sarcastic?”

You think I was being “sarcastic”...well, excuse me, I was just being honest.

I mean, do I come on IL threads and tell you guys how to run your state? nooooooooooooooooooooo...

heck, there's no need to criticize IL politics is there...

not with the bang up job you guys have done electing your U.S. senators & governors. LMAO

No I didn't. But I'm not surprised. The Republican Party will pay dearly if they continue to ignore the Tea Party Movement and listen to RINOs like Arnie.

The California Republican Party donated $650,000 to supporting 1A before they decided (after catching hell from Republicans) that they were against it. But they didn't have any money left to actually support the effort to defeat 1A.

So those ads you see supporting 1A were supported by your donations to the Republican Party.

Well, you have a chip on your shoulder for sure. I wasn’t telling you how to run California politics, just making an observation.

I don’t know what’s bothering you, but it must be something. Oh, well, I hope you have a better day...

” I don’t know what’s bothering you?”

Well, I'll tell you “what's bothering” me...

“What's bothering” me are you out-of-state clowns who come on CA threads with their “observations”...

You have enough to do to clean up the mess where you live without coming on CA threads and posting your “observations” about what those of us who live, work & pay taxes in CA should do!

Try MYOB! got it? good!

shezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Uh, this is not practicing what you preach. Got it?

FreeRepublic is just that. This is a forum where all members are invited to comment on threads. If you don't want those outside of California to post on your threads, then say so up front. Frankly, I'd be glad to see California drop into the ocean, the sooner the better. And I'd be glad to see Illinois politicians rounded up and jailed. But neither will happen any time soon I'm afraid. So that leaves me with something to wish for, and you with the need to degrade anyone you feel subservient to your inflated ego.

I have been...and for years long before you arrived...
and I just did on this thread and you continue to post your inane remarks today!

“Frankly, I'd be glad to see California drop into the ocean, the sooner the better.”

Well, the truth FINALLY comes out...and here you claimed, you were just making "observations"...you passing yourself off as just another "concerned citizen" but just as I suspected, you're just another "CA hater"!

Do us all a favor and find some other thread to clutter up!

gezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

You got it.
Either the legislature or some damned liberal judge will make it happen.
So what about that little majority rule b.s.

Oh, I can assure you, this will be the last thread, on any topic, that you post that I'll visit.

And when I post a remark on ANY thread, I'll kindly ask that you refrain from comment. I prefer dealing with good, kindly, and friendly people who aren't impressed with their own self-importance.

Some judge or court will set the votes aside..
