I was going to try it with my Border Collie, but I'm afraid of what would happen if he saw a semi full of sheep go by...

Might try it with the pound mutt, tho...more 'horsepower' too!

And just what makes you think that is remotely possible?

You might but it won’t happen.

You aren’t getting clean diesel.

Everybody else in the world does but we won’t.

We get electric skateboards.

Yes but the next move is to deny cars completely.

Let's just hope the country will bounce back when the Pubbies retake control of the House in 2010.

Sounds good but unfortunately every time that socialism takes root in any country for anything, those socialist programs will NEVER be cut, no matter whether it is a so-called "conservative" party or not that is governing the country. All we have to do is look at the examples of Germany (Merkel) and France (Sarkozy) who are considered to be conservative, and yet the socialist structure & programs of those countries continue to run without letup whether it is a liberal party or so-called conservative party that is in control. It will take a 2nd American Revolution to win our country back and root out & destroy every vestige of socialism. And with over 50% of the American people on some form of government handout, I would say the odds are slim to none that we will ever roll back & reverse socialism.

“....would match the stringency of the California program...”

That means the added cost of $1,500 - $3,000 per vehicle. What a brilliant idea. Let’s take the California model and make it federal law. This it total and complete lunacy.

I will love to see the reaction from all the demoRAT idiots & da hood neighborhoods & welfare recipients & so-called lower class fork over another $1500-$3000 to equip their belch mobiles with high priced polution & emission control features.
Yah, I will love to see the regressive pay structure of these fees.....

Oh wait a second!!! Sorry, I forgot. I guess we the dwindling middle class will probably have to pay for that along with the defaulted mortgages that 0bama promised to his idiot sheeples.

Never mind.....

Far better would be a three-fold solution:
1. Ban ALL oil imports.
2. Re-start offshore drilling off the US coast, drill in ANWAR
3. For 2, estimate how much oil we have and how long it will last, so drill only so that we consume just enough that the US is self-sufficient for x number of years (I'd say for 40 years)

This way, we stop sending money to the jihadis and we also build jobs in the US and we safeguard our kids and grandkids from ever being subservient to the sauds

Separation of powers does exist and Congress will have to send him the legislation for such. I am sure that San Fran Nan will want to get the attention off of her *bold lying* by cooperating with this.

Yeah, but at least we'll all be equally subject to injury and death by driving small cars.

Social justice on the road...

Not me.

They'll have to pry my bullet riddled corpse from my 4WD Explorer first.

They are carbon neutral.

The same spurious argument was made about magic beans until Jack grew his beanstalk to the sky. That's when I became a climate-change believer.

Of course since then, I passed through puberty, adulthood and 35 years in the workforce paying taxes to support the nanny-state.

Climate-change is just the latest tactic of the Statists to limit our economic choices, our mobility and our liberty in general.
