Michael Smerconish is probably what you would call a blowhard. When he’s not on the radio — on Friday, he did nine hours of talk radio alone — he’s on TV, doing much of the same.
He’s kind of tricky: a Republican who backed Obama.
I think the Politico was paid to put his cone head on their front page by CBS.

Don’t necessarily blame the Republicans for wanting to win elections. It’s the majority of the voters who will elect the candidate who promises them the most largess from the treasury. The electorate believes their needs have become rights and they are entitled to ‘benefits’ from the government.
"Republican" doesn't mean much. McCain probably would have backed Obama if Tancredo/Paul/Sanford got the 2008 GOP nomination. Crist's kneepads already came out for the One, and we still have some in the Clueless Party fighting to make him our nominee in 2012.
I’ve figured out the liberal Republican thing: These are country club liberals who would be Democrats but for the sleazy, union-blue-collar-working class-dirt-under the fingernails, minority association with the party, and they just can’t bring themselves to call themselves Democrats. They figure they can bully and strong arm the conservatives in the Republican party to get their way rather than bully the hard-asses in the Democrat party to change.
The press pulled the same stunt when a “Republican” who’d never found a politician he agreed with more than Al Gore on EVERY issue gave money to the “Al Gore recount” legal actions.
He even came on FR to spout his politics post election.
He seemed to have only voted Republican in the election primary to vote against Boosh.
But the media ran a number of stories about the “Republican” who thought that Al Gore had the election stolen from him.
Have you seen the republican’t party recently.
Because they are RINOs.. You can remove the democrat from the party but its hard to remove "the democrat" from the democrat...
