We were going to have to face Hussein sooner or later. I don't think anything could have stopped him short of a Reagan type boxing his ears in the debates. But then we would have had to face him later. He wasn't going to go away cloaked in the protection of the Democrats.

Sometimes evil is the greatest teaching tool. GenX and GenY haven't had the experiences to see evil firsthand gripping the world. And of course, many of the boomers are guilt-ridden. Facing evil makes us better, unless we don't survive it or become socialist slaves.

Yet, in a way, isn't it exhilirating to speak out and march and fight against evil? There should be no moral confusion and handwringing among conservatives.

Life is harder but it's simpler. The course itself, at least, is clear and there is peace in that.
