Listen to John and Ken savor victory over those who have been destroying California with runaway spending. Props 1A through 1E were trounced big time. We have had enough. The state needs to do a Chapter 9 and gets its house in order.

I think it is Terri Rae Elmer, the news person who also makes comments during the show.
Although I too am thrilled at the election outcome,
states are not eligible to petition for bankruptcy protection. (Chapter 9 applies to subdivisions of states, like counties, cities and special agencies like MTA.)
I suppose a horrifically insolvent STATE would end up like a similarly insolvent COUNTRY: it would keep issuing IOUs, but over time, creditors would offer less and less goods and services.

Many Demonrats had to have voted against these save-the-big-spenders propositions, yet they voted in the same legislators that brought CA to woeful economic conditions that brought them to the ballot.
Rush said Obalmy would bail out CA because it is too big to fail (sound familiar?). Where/when will this all end?
