Supreme Court » He promises to be tough but fair on nominee.
Washington » Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said after a private meeting with Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor on Tuesday that he likes her and is impressed with her skills, but he still plans to grill her during confirmation hearings.
Hatch met with Sotomayor for nearly an hour in his office on Tuesday, the eighth speed date of the day for the 2nd Circuit Appeals Court judge whom President Barack Obama tapped last week for the Supreme Court.
After the closed-door meeting, Hatch said he is keeping an open mind, but he plans to quiz her when she comes before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
"I made it very clear I'll ask tough questions of her," Hatch told reporters. "That's to be expected and it would be to her good to have the tough questions come right upfront in the hearings. And I think she understands that."

Hatch could not “grill” his way out of a wet paper bag.

LOL! Now that thought puts a smile on my face...
Pity the first Hispanic "permitted" by the democrats to go to SCOTUS has to be a hate-filled racist.

If he had to go solo, it would be pretty hopeless. But I suspect his staff has a clue.

I have called the offices of all the GOP Senators on the Judiciary Committee(except Graham, who has an answering machine where you can’t even leave a message) to tell them that Sotomayor is unqualified, an activist, a member of a racist organization and is a self described racist.
The GOP needs to draw a line in the sand on her if they want to signal that conservatives should support them in 2010.

Hatch, your song and dance is old. You'll huff and puff..then sh*t your pants. PC has elected a Supreme Court Justice, years of placating and slouching off has left you ineffective and worthless. You are but a mere puppet, and your name will go down in history as a useful idiot.

Hatch is a gutless RINO whose main goal in life is to be invited on MSM Sunday morning talking head shows.
He will fold up and kiss her culo in the first minute.
Bet on it.

Yeh yeh yeh. She's shaking in her boots [/s]
And she will respond like Ginsberg did -- 'I'm not going to respond to that question. Next question.'

Unfortunate, but true. He's another milquetoast Republican. You can anticipate his “grilling” to be about the same as he did with ACLU attorney Ruth Buzzie Ginsberg and with Breyer.
He will congratulate he in the end upon her confirmation. Absolutely disgusting.

To: Technoman
Have mercy.........Sotomayor may as well withdraw her name from nomination. The prospect of Hatch grilling her would be the worst experience of her life........(sarcasm off). Hatch is a hypocritical wimp! My 12 year old grandson could whupp him in a butt-kickin’ contest.
