I saw one article this morning that suggested that Hussein was “trying to get in touch with his inner Muslim.” I think that’s about it. It must be something like middle-aged, lapsed Catholics who try to get back into the good graces of the church.
His appeasement mentality will empower these irrational fanatics. It’s a clear signal of weakness - like trying to please the bully in the school yard. The bully just smells blood in the water.
