UPDATED II: Walter Myers: Spy For Castro, Obama Campaign Donor
dequalss ^ | June 5, 2009 | N/a

When I heard this on the radio on the drive home the first thing I thought was, I’ll bet they’re democrats (socialist) and huge Obama supporters.

Walter Kendall Myers, 72, aided by his wife Gwendolyn Myers, 71, used his Top Secret security clearance to pass on classified information to the Cuban government and at one point met with Cuban leader Fidel Castro, according to court documents.

The two were charged with conspiracy to act as illegal agents of the Cuban government and to communicate classified information to Cuba, the Justice Department said. They were also charged with wire fraud and acting as illegal agents.

They face up to 35 years in prison. The two pleaded not guilty and will be held until a detention hearing on Wednesday, a Justice Department official said.

A lawyer representing the couple declined to comment.

A quick search and this popped up:

Who is the only person Walter Kendall Myers has made a political donation to over those past thirty years? If you guessed Barack Obama, you’d be right.

OBAMA, BARACK VIA OBAMA FOR AMERICA 07/25/2008 250.00 MYERS, WALTER ASHBURN, VA 20147 NOT EMPLOYED/RETIRED

Now $250 isn’t a huge amount and I’m too lazy to verify the information, that’s what we have super sleuths like Gateway Pundit and Director Blue for, I’m merely a Buffoon, but I’d bet the house that these two are long time democrat party supporters/voters and will be defended by every socialist(D) in DC when/if this ever gets to trial.

Two closing questions:

If the two did in fact donate to Hussein Obama’s coup campaign, isn’t that sort of a donation from Castro? I know its a stretch but will he return it? How many other dirty traitors donated to Obama? All of them if you ask me, has he released the donor list yet? Oh… that’s right, us lowly serfs have no business questioning the royal scumbag. …tsk tsk

And, I wonder what the traitorous Congressional Black Caucus is passing along to Cuba after their trip a few months back to kiss the ring of Fidel?

NOTE: Yeah, Walter Myers is a common name and it could be anyone…. sleuths.. get ta sleuthin’!

UPDATE: One sleuther came up with an Open Secrets link…. just like we need more cowbell, we need more sleuthin’…

UPDATE II: From the Jerusalem Post we learn Myers was in fact a commie sympathizing shitbag…

Myers apparently sympathized with the Cuban ideology and revolution that put Castro into power. Court documents say he wrote in a personal journal in 1978: “I can see nothing of value that has been lost by the revolution. … (T)he revolution has released enormous potential and liberated the Cuban spirit.” He praised Castro as a “brilliant and charismatic leader” who is “one of the great political leaders of our time.” And he called the United States “exploiters” who regularly murdered Cuban revolutionary leaders. We presently have members of Congress (all democrats oddly enough) who have nothing but praise for the murderous commie as well.

Lee and others heaped praise on Castro, calling him warm and receptive during their discussion. But the lawmakers disputed Castro’s later statement that members of the congressional delegation said American society is still racist.

“It was quite a moment to behold,” Lee said, recalling her moments with Castro.

“It was almost like listening to an old friend,” said Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Il.), adding that he found Castro’s home to be modest and Castro’s wife to be particularly hospitable.

“In my household I told Castro he is known as the ultimate survivor,” Rush said.

Of course this spy is for Obama. No one with any sense would give a plug nickle to him.

Castro’s home to be modest and Castro’s wife

Oh yeah, his "wife." I guess they have gay marriage in Cuba.

Kendall Myers (infamous Downing Street memo attendee), a senior State Department analyst, disclosed that for all Britain’s attempts to influence US policy in recent years, “we typically ignore them and take no notice — it’s a sad business”.

He added that he felt “a little ashamed” at Mr Bush’s treatment of the Prime Minister, who had invested so much of his political capital in standing shoulder to shoulder with America after 9/11.

Speaking at an academic forum in Washington on Tuesday night, he answered a question from The Times, saying: “It was a done deal from the beginning, it was a onesided relationship that was entered into with open eyes . . . there was nothing. There was no payback, no sense of reciprocity.”

The extraordinarily frank remarks will be seen as further evidence of the long-standing unease felt within some parts of the State Department over the direction of White House policy. They may also be an indication of the weakness of President Bush as he struggles to stop Iraq sliding into civil war and faces a Democrat-dominated Congress elected this month.

Last night Dr Myers, who is thought to have attended the discussions over the infamous Downing Street memo in 2002 before the Iraq war, was disowned by the State Department.

Privately, US officials are furious about the comments made by a man not even involved in the policymaking process, which can only rock relations at a time of high-wire tension in international diplomacy. Dr Myers himself was said to be considering early retirement.

A senior US official could lose his job today after dismissing George Bush’s relationship with Tony Blair as “totally one-sided”.

Kendall Myers, a State Department analyst who advises Condoleezza Rice, was expected to step aside or be sacked after Whitehall reacted angrily to his remarks.

In his seminar, Mr Myers admitted he felt “a little ashamed” at Mr Bush’s treatment of the Prime Minister, who has been Washington’s staunchest ally since September 11.

He claimed Britain’s role as a bridge between America and Europe was now “disappearing before our eyes” and predicted it would not be replicated in the future.

“What I think and fear is that Britain will draw back from the US without moving closer to Europe,” he said. “In that sense, London Bridge is falling down.”

Kendall Myers, a leading State Department adviser, suggested that Mr Blair should have been ditched by Labour but the party had lacked the “courage or audacity” to remove him.

Well, Castro is a little to the right of Firefly.

I wonder if this was Myers’s own money.

Who knows, Obama may simply quash prosecution of the case, like he did with the case of the Black Panthers who menaced at several polling places in Philadelphia. It would be a favor to his buddy Fidel.

I don’t watch television, but I happened to be in the kitchen this morning while my wife was watching The Today Show.

They didn’t make a single reference to his political affiliations during what was several minutes of coverage on it.

Part of the way through. I knew he was a lib and an Obama supporter, even though they never mentioned it once.

A spy. Check.

Thinks Fidel Castro is a great leader. Check.

Visited Cuba. Check.

Hates the United States. Check.

A card carrying liberal.
