Services were moved to the parking lot of a Rainier Beach church after a naked man smashed through a window Saturday, spattering HIV-positive blood inside and leaving a trail of destruction through the house of worship.

Officials believe the 46-year-old suspect was high on PCP during his unholy rampage through the Unity Church of God in Christ - and now the church interior is considered a bio-hazard because of the tainted blood inside.

Isn’t COGIC a predominately African-American denomination? Was he perhaps ticked off that blacks voted overwhelmingly for Proposition 8?

The pastor, Rev. James Hicks, says church members started cleaning up the mess until they learned that the man is HIV-positive and has hepatitis C - possibly creating a bio-hazard inside the house of worship.

Come on. You know he was Amish because he kept his wide-brimmed hat on the entire time. ;)

It's three males, and from what I've heard about Tanzanian Lutherans, they're straighter than we are.

Yes--and quite conservative.

As for the PCP--it may be called "angel dust" but it reeks of demon possession.

This church doesn’t appear to have a web site, but I found a couple of “reviews” at another web site called “Yelp”:

Often called Seattle’s best-kept secret church; downtown, progressive, interfaith, New Thought spirituality. The ministry is now headed by Karen Lindvig, who’s simply wonderful: deep, affecting messages, warm and funny. The place is big enough to offer top notch services (music, speakers, teachers) but not so big as to feel corporate or slick. Very welcoming and respectful of the personal journey as well as social justice and outreach issues.

And:

This is a beautiful new-age church, Christian and open-minded. Books they have led workshops on: Four Agreements, Power of Now, Course in Miracles, Life of Water, New Earth, and much more.

I really like that the main minister, Richard Levy, is joined by a woman, his co-minister Karen Lindvig. Expect musical guests (like Gina Sala, Rafe Pearlman, and others), mediation, readings from the Bible and “new-thought” sermon, more music, children intro, and ending with the Peace Song.

Only drawback is Richard’s wife, Maureen, who is described by people at the church as a “bulldog”, it’s her way or the highway. But that shouldn’t effect the layperson too much.

It’s a great church, check it out! Services 9 and 11am. Chaplains available to talk, children care, and more.

It sounds pretty new-agey. Now I wonder if the perp wasn’t a parishioner who was off his meds or on an especially high high?

This is a lot worse than the guy that went streaking through a church back in the 1970’s. They caught him by the organ.

This may be part of the outreach by the homosexuals to go to churches and speak about the importance of homosexual marrages.

He is but this trend is disturbing. Open season on Christians and churches. The hate from the left/homosexual “community” is increasing daily and they just get loonier and loonier

He’s lucky he didn’t try this at an abortion clinic. The full power of the federal government would have come down on him.

“a naked man smashed through a window Saturday, spattering HIV-positive blood inside”

Whew. These guys are lucky. What if one of those crazy Iraq war combat veterans that we’ve been hearing about had attacked the church instead?

/sarcasm off.

Boy this is really going to hurt the pro-HIV movement.

I'm sure this is going to set the movement back 20 years.

Just think of all the negative publicity this is going to generate in the mainstream media.
